activities at Eastlea
As part of our careers education, on Thursday 12th June our Year 8 students had an exciting Enterprise Workshop delivered by INSPIRE and DWS, a global asset management company. They learnt about being an entrepreneur and worked on their presentation and employability skills throughout the day. They developed a sustainable product, of which the winning groups went on to a careers carousel speaking to all the volunteers about their jobs and the routes available into various careers. It was a great opportunity for our Year 8 students to become wider world ready, as part of our fantastic careers programme here at Eastlea. We look forward to more events like these in the forthcoming academic year. Above and overleaf are photographs from the day and information about careers guidance at Eastlea. GCSE Results Day - 2st August
As the GCSE exams draw to a close, thoughts turn to the all-important results day. This year, students will receive their results on Thursday, 21st August after 8am. Students can access their results online by logging into their Go4Schools account where results will be visible. Please see the attached guidance to logging into the account if required. Students are advised that they should also come into school to collect the paper copy of their results between 9am and 11am on Thursday 21st August. This is important as some colleges do require paper copies of the results. More information about Results Day can be found in this letter. Mr Ahmed, Deputy Headteacher
School Student Wellbeing Survey Eastlea is currently working to achieve the Wellbeing Award for Schools - a school improvement award. This is a national award, developed in partnership with the National Children’s Bureau, which places good emotional wellbeing and positive mental health at the heart of the culture and ethos of the school. Your views are important in helping us understand what we are doing well and how we can do even better. You will have received an email entitled Eastlea Community School Student Wellbeing Survey Please click on the link in the email and complete it. It should only take a couple of minutes. All responses and suggestions will be carefully considered and used to plan a range of school improvements. If you have any queries about this survey, please contact the school and speak to me. Ms Hegan, Assistant Headteacher/Designated Safeguarding Lead
