NCL Showcase Students and staff from across the whole of the Trust came together at Sarah Bonnell School on Thursday, 19th June in a spectacular show of creativity. Eastlea was well represented with students demonstrating their immense talents in two diverse areas, dance and public speaking. Here is a short video of the dancers. Well done to everyone who took part: there is some real talent in Newham Community learning.

Extra curricular activities at Eastlea

Essex SEND Cricket Festival Students from Eastlea Community School participated in Essex Cricket’s first ever SEND competition following up their success in the table cricket competition; Eastlea are Essex Champions.

Eastlea played well to secure third place, beaten by 4 runs by the eventual winners of the competition, Endeavour School based in Brentwood.Players will receive certificates from Essex Cricket. It was a great experience for all players who took part and they gave their best. I am grateful to all the staff who make this possible.

Online Safety Information for Parents/Carers In order to keep children safe, it is crucial that parents and carers understand what their children are doing online. Here is a presentation from Mr Ali, Online Safety Coordinator on the risks of sexploitation. This is an increasing risk for young people across the UK. Mr Ali will be hosting a coffee morning on Internet safety on Monday, 30th June and parents/carers are encouraged to attend. More information will follow.

School Student Wellbeing Survey Eastlea is currently working to achieve the Wellbeing Award for Schools - a school improvement award. This is a national award, developed in partnership with the National Children’s Bureau, which places good emotional wellbeing and positive mental health at the heart of the culture and ethos of the school.

Your views are important in helping us understand what we are doing well and how we can do even better.

You will have received an email on 13.6.25 entitled Eastlea Community School Student Wellbeing Survey Please click on the link in the email and complete it. It should only take a few minutes. All responses and suggestions will be carefully considered and used to plan a range of school improvements.
