NamPol crime coordinator in the Kunene Region, Commissioner Rudolf Kanyetu confirmed the accident that took place on the main road between Kamanjab and Outjo on Friday afternoon around 13:00. According to Kanyetu, the five men were apparently travelling from Walvis Bay to Otjokavare to attend a funeral.

Police searching for witnesses The police are searching for the following witnesses needed by the Gender Based Violence Protection Division, Walvis Bay. Thusnelde Narubes whose last known address is DRC, Swakopmund on charge of assault by threat with CR number 22/04/2015 and Sylvia Tangi Haraes whose last known address is DRC, Swakopmund on charges of assault by threat with CR number 22/04/2015. Both witnesses speak Damara/Nama and Afrikaans. The witnesses have since moved from their last known addresses and their whereabouts, therefore remain unclear. The office of Gender Based Violence Protection is therefore requesting assistance in tracing the witnesses. The witnesses themselves or anyone with information regarding the said witnesses' whereabouts should contact, detective inspector, Shangula at 0812479471 and or warrant officer Haimbodi at 0812707083 or 064-219068.

The charges follow after it was discovered he may have had alcohol in his system at the time of the accident. The suspect was travelling with 24-year-old Johannes Klemens who died at the spot. The suspect is yet to be charged and is receiving further medical treatment in a Swakopmund hospital. The accident, that was confirmed by NamPol Chief Inspector Moses !Uwu//khaeb, happened in Daniel Kamho Street, in the coastal town at about 3:00 in the morning. According to !Uwu//khaeb the 25-year-old who was with a passenger at the time of the accident allegedly lost control of the vehicle. “The vehicle hit the pavement before it overturned and rolled three times.” According to a police source, the suspect whose vehicle was registered in Walvis Bay may have consumed alcohol before the accident, he however could not be tested at the time because he had also sustained injuries and was receiving medical treatment at the time.

Murder suspect on the run Mavourlene !Gaёs The police are investigating the murder of a 21-year-old man who was allegedly stabbed in front of Etosha Bar in Kuisebmond. The stabbing took place at about 1:30 Thursday morning. The deceased was identified as Whiley Goseb. Detective chief inspector, Erastus Iikuyu confirmed the incident yesterday afternoon. According to Iikuyu, the deceased and his friends where came out of Watergate Lounge in the area commonly referred to as 'Center' to go buy cigarettes from the vendors selling in front of Sushi Bar. “While they were busy buying the cigarettes, one of Goseb's friends accidentally bumped against the suspect who was also standing at the same spot at the time.

An argument broke out between Goseb's friends and the suspect. The suspect then took out a knife and stabbed Goseb on his chest before fleeing the scene.” Iikuyu added the men chased the suspect and caught up with him in front of Etosha Bar. “The suspect stopped and stabbed one of Goseb's friends on the neck once and again on the back while he (deceased’s friend) was trying to run away.” According to Iikuyu the suspect is still unknown and police investigation continues. The deceased’s friend who was also stabbed is receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
