Murder-gang behind bars Swakopmund Police believe there were more victims. Must come forward as there are gang members still on the run.......... Isaac Chikosi The Namibian Police at Swakopmund urges residents of the Mondesa suburb who were victim to street robberies on Friday and Saturday (15 & 16 November) to come forward, as it is believed the robberies were carried out by the same group of street robbers who killed a man over the weekend. It is known that three men were robbed over the abovementioned period at 06:00 in Mandume ya Ndemufayo Street (in the area of FNB Mondesa, Woermann Brock Mondesa, tuck shops opposite Hero Bar - up to the corner of John Arnold Street in the vicinity of Amagus Bar . These individuals never reported the incidents, but they have to come forward in order to carry out more arrests and to bring members of the gang arrested already to the book. In all the cases, including the fatal robbery, the gang stripped the people of their clothes and shoes and valuables such as cell phones and cash. Continues on page 2

Fatal parachute incident Floris Steenkamp A woman of Asian descent fell to her death during a parachute incident at Swakopmund over the weekend. The deceased was in her late twenties. It remains unclear under what conditions this fatal incident occurred. The incident was confirmed by more than one source. The civil aviation authority said it is also investigating the incident now to ascertain whether the parachute jumping operator complied to all rules and regulations.

Eileen van der Schyff A street criminal got more than what he bargained for in Walvis Bay yesterday morning. The thug hit a young woman to the ground, grabbed her cell phone and ran, only to be chased down by members of the public a few hundred metres further. Continues on page 2

Drama unfolded at the jetty at Swakopmund over the weekend when this man attempted to commit suicide by jumping into the sea. The incident occurred at 06:45 on Friday. The man parked his bicycle near the jetty. He left a suicide note citing financial troubles for his drastic action. He then allegedly ran onto the jetty, passed people walking there at the time. He jumped over the rails into the rough ocean. Emergency services were contacted. The man then possibly had a change of heart, as he swam back to the jetty and climbed on the cross members to get out of the water. He was rescued and hospitalised and remained on suicide watch. He was reportedly interviewed by social workers on Monday.
