DIMAPUR: Deputy chief minister and BLP leader, Y. Patton has expressed grief over the demise of late Thomas Ngullie, Niroyo village on August 13, at Wokha town. Y. Patton in a condolence note stated that, late Ngullie was one of the senior most registered 1st class contractors among the Lotha community and was a “sincere, seasoned and experienced contractor” who committed his full time and energy for the upliftment of the society. Patton shared that his demise was not only a loss for the family but for Lotha community in particular and Nagas in general, and that it will be difficult to fill the vacuum created in the society. Further, Dy. CM along with state BJP legislators conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace. Noke Wangnao: Advisor of Social Welfare, Home Guards & Civil Defence, Noke Wangnao expressed sorrow at the demise of late Chingkie Konyak, Home Guard personnel on August 9 at Mon. In a condolence note, Noke paid tribute to the sacrifices made so far by all the frontline workers leading the fight from the front putting their own lives at risk for the sake of saving lives. Noke conveyed deepest condolence to the family of the deceased and that the departed soul rest in peace.
Neingusie Meyase and secretary, Kecalhouto Kuotsu stated that many government employees currently working in various departments under Medziphema do not reside in Medziphema but ply to and from different parts of Dimapur district. In this, the union expressed concern about the
2020-2021 when there has, in fact been a decline of 612 employees. An enquiry has also been set up in the department to ascertain how such gross anomaly had occurred and to ensure that such mis- reporting doesn’t happen in future. In view of the response above, the increase of 2741 employees from 2019-20 to 2020-21 doesn’t arise. Education department has appointed 41 employees between March 2020 till July 2020 on the total appointment. Rs.176.52 crore released under NDRF Neiphiu Rio who is also in charge of NSDMA said Rs. 176.52 Cr was released by the GoI under NDRF during March 2020 against the damage caused by the monsoon 2019. On the status of post creation, the minister said the requirement of basic posts of faculty and nonteaching staff has been drafted and was under process for sanction. He informed the building was scheduled to be handed over by the contractor during the end of financial year 2019-2020.

DIMAPUR: Drawing attention to the grievances of CSS Hindi teachers, the All Nagaland Hindi Teachers’ Union (ANHTU) Mon unit has appealed the state government and concerned department to release the pending salaries for the month of June and July 2020 within this month. In a appeal letter ANHTU Mon unit president, S. Topha Konyak and general secretary, Nokzei Konyak urged for prioritising the long issues of the Hindi teachers appointed in the year 2012-2013. It stated that inspite of several memorandums served by the union, the issue has not
been solved to any extend. Pointing out that with the irregularity of salary the teachers were facing untold hardships coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic, the ANHTU Mon unit stated that teachers problems have
doubled as there are no more credits to be found. Union further urged the state government and the concerned Education department to ensure regular salary payment like other government employees of the state.

Organisations condemn August 6 incident DIMAPUR: Kuozhüzou Kewhimiapfu Krotho (KKK) and Leirie Chazou Women Organisation (LCWO) have condemned the barbaric act committed by a father on his underage daughter at Kohima on August 6. KKK: Kuozhüzou Kewhimiapfu Krotho (KKK) in a condemnation by president, Tsenuo Suoho and secretary Satuonuo stated that there was no place for such heinous and inhumane behaviour in a civilised society. It urged law enforcing agencies to award befitting and exemplary punishment
on the perpetrator and that under no circumstances the accused should be granted bail. KKK prayed that the Almighty grant comfort and strength to the family at this moment of difficult time. LCWO: Leirie Chazou Women Organisation (LCWO) in a condemnation stated that the heinous crime of such nature would not be tolerated at any cost. LCWO also further appealed to the concern authority to serve the guilty with fitted punishment at the earliest.
