Minister of Transport, Civil Aviation and Railway P. Paiwang Konyak, said Rs. 3, 39, 529 vehicles were registered in Nagaland as on July 1, 2020 in response to an unstarred question raised by NPF MLA Dr. Chotisuh Sazo. Y. Patton in a condolence note stated that, late Ngullie was one of the senior most registered 1st class contractors among the Lotha community and was a “sincere, seasoned and experienced contractor” who committed his full time and energy for the upliftment of the society.
Patton shared that his demise was not only a loss for the family but for Lotha community in particular and Nagas in general, and that it will be difficult to fill the vacuum created in the society.
Further, Dy. CM along with state BJP legislators conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
Noke Wangnao: Advisor of Social Welfare, Home Guards & Civil Defence, Noke Wangnao expressed sorrow at the demise of late Chingkie Konyak, Home Guard personnel on August 9 at Mon. Rs. 42 lakhs released for maintenance of water supply in Kohima
Minister of PHED Jacob Zhimomi said the department has released a fund of Rs. 42 lakhs for the year 2019-20 for material and civil works under non-plan to Kohima urban division for repair, operation & maintenance of water supply infrastructure for Kohima town. He was responding to an unstarred question raised by NPF MLA Keniezhakho Nakhro. Minister clarified the department did not allocate funds specifically for maintenance of Dzüna water source and reservoir tank at Jotsoma village during the last 5 years.
However, the department has released funds under non-plan to the Kohima Urban Division. For 2015-16, Rs 24.67 lakh was released, 2016-17 (Rs. 84.72 lakh), 2017-18 (Rs. 21.97 lakh) 2018-19 (Rs. 37.00 lakh) and 2019-20 (Rs. 42.00 lakh).
He further stated that no specific fund was allotted for Dzüna water source & reservoir tank. Other works includes improvement of approach road from Sazolie college junction to Dziina source, extension of main line 250 mm dia (length 150m), construction of retaining wall and supporting pillars affected by landslide, repair and replacements of 300mm 1 dia mainline.
Wokha two lane affected owners under assessment by district administration
Deputy chief minister Y. Patton responding to an unstarred question raised by NPF MLA Dr. Chumben Murry on list of land/property owners affected by two land construction at NH-2 and the amount to be compensated, Y Patton said the list of land/ property damage owners within Wokha district to be affected by the sanctioned/on-going two lane construction was under re-assessment by district administration because of various factors. He informed that DPR was prepared for two-lane of 12m ROW including built up area but cost of land/property damage was 53.84% of the project cost, for which the ministry (MoRT&H) has reduced ROW from 12m to 8.5m in built up area to curtail the cost of compensation.
Rs. 2313 complaints filed in Police stations
Deputy CM, Y Patton who is also charge of Home said 2313 complaints have been filed in all the police stations from March 31, 2019 till date responding to unstarred questions raised by NPF MLA Yitachu on complaints filed in all the Police Stations in the state. Dimapur district registered the highest complaint of 1163 cases, followed by Kohima (270) and Mon (259), while Kiphire registered the lowest complaint with 21 cases. While cases related to SCPS/N&P/ Cyber crime PS, PHQ registered 57 cases. Out of which 2222 complaints have been registered and taken up for investigation, while 91 complaints were not taken up citing various reasons which includes FIR withdrawn by complaint, cases withdrawn as compromised etc.

Leader of the House and minister in-charge of School Education, Neiphiu Rio stated an error was committed by the department whilst reporting the number of employees and consequent indication in the explanatory memorandum to the budget for the year 2020- 2021. He was replying to an unstarred question raised by NPF MLA Y. Vikheho Swu on details of appointment under Nagaland Fiscal Responsibility & Budget Management Act 2005. On queries about the increase of 2741 employees from 2019- 2020 to 2020-2021 under the act, Rio stated that as per the aforementioned document, the total number of employees has been indicated as 26,713; whereas, there were 23,360 employees (NonPlan 18611 & CSS 4749) at the time of reporting. DIMAPUR: Medziphema Town GB Union (MTGBU) has urged upon all Head of Departments (HODs) and government employees to make necessary arrangements to stay in Medziphema so as to avoid plying regularly thereby containing the spread of COVID-19.
In a release, president, Neingusie Meyase and secretary, Kecalhouto Kuotsu stated that many government employees currently working in various departments under Medziphema do not reside in Medziphema but ply to and from different parts of Dimapur district.

KKK: Kuozhüzou Kewhimiapfu Krotho (KKK) in a condemnation by president, Tsenuo Suoho and secretary Satuonuo stated that there was no place for such heinous and inhumane behaviour in a civilised society. It urged law enforcing agencies to award befitting and exemplary punishment on the perpetrator and that under no circumstances the accused should be granted bail. Rs.176.52 crore released under NDRF
Neiphiu Rio who is also in charge of NSDMA said Rs. 176.52 Cr was released by the GoI under NDRF during March 2020 against the damage caused by the monsoon 2019. However, he said under NDRF there was no fund earmarked for COVID-19. Responding to an unstarred question raised by NPF MLA Y.M. Rio informed the central government released money only during the month of March 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.
