New traffic plan for Pfutsero launched NBCC observes ‘Youth Week & Youth Sunday’

Correspondent KOHIMA, JUL 5 (NPN): A new traffic plan for Pfutsero town, an endeavour of Pfutsero town council, Pfutsero police and administration was launched, here, on Monday. Speaking at the flagging off programme, minister for planning and coordination, land revenue and parliamentary affairs Neiba Kronu urged vehicle users to maintain discipline and punctuality and see that traffic rules and regulation were strictly followed. While assuring to assist the administration and police in all possible ways for proper traffic management, Kronu also asked the concerned to clear the abandoned vehicles on the roadsides. The minister assured to take up the repair works of the town road before Christmas and towards this he sought the cooperation of the public. Pfutsero ADC Japheth Woch said that the new traffic plan would be implemented with immediate effect. Pfutsero EAC Dr. Riku Khutso also informed that a joint survey of the town roads/traffic management was conducted in May to prepare a new traffic plan of Pfutsero town as traffic congestion was a serious concern. According to the new traffic plan, some of the problems causing congestion included increasing number of vehicles and transit vehicles crossing the town, haphazard parking and violation of traffic rules,

DIMAPUR: Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) observed “youth week & youth Sunday” from June 28 to July 4 in all the local Churches under NBCC. In a press release, NBCC youth secretary, Rev. Vikuo Rhi informed that the week-long programme included chain of prayers; family prayers; sanitation & cleanliness drives; helping old and needy etc. On July 4, the youth day worship was held and culminated with a virtual worship with NBCC youth committee members and association youth secretaries, director and coordinators. Asia Pacific Baptist Federation (APBF) general secretary, Rev. Dr. Vesekhoyi (Vee) Tetseo who was the speaker, spoke on the

topic “stronger together – hope” taken from the book of Romans 8:24. Nagaland Police Baptist Churches Association youth secretary, Tsenbemo Ngullie shared on the challenges during pandemic of how he along with his wife and two children were tested positive but God had healed them at His mercy. The virtual worship was led by NBCC youth secretary Rev. Vikuo Rhi; Sumi (SBAK) Nito Mount youth secretary, Zunheboto Kasheli Rotokha said the invocation; Tshering Lama representing Gorkha Baptist Association (AGBCN) brought special praise; Suhuto Chishi, NBCC Youth committee chairman and youth secretary, WSBAK gave concluding

remarks. The worship program ended with prayer of blessings from NBCC general secretary Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho. Rev. Vikuo Rhi in his message during the NBCC youth Sunday at Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima said that we must have hope in the midst of pandemic. He said that due to the pandemic and subsequent lockdown, many people especially young ones had returned home, leaving their job, studies and careers and that many had also died. The reverend said that there were people undergoing depression, anxiety, eating disorders, stress, substance dependency, and suicidal ideation. Moreover, some people were in the state of

hopelessness due to shortage of oxygen, ventilators, debts, relationship, work, health, money, failures, and loss of passion. But in this regard, he challenged the young people to put complete hope in Christ Jesus in such a time as this. He also said that youth and children were the greatest hope of their parents, Church and society and that they were the mission field. Therefore, he urged upon them to work hard, stay faithful and trust God in all they do. It may be mentioned that the NBCC youth week & youth Sunday has been a regular calendar of events which is observed during the first week & on first Sunday of July.
