Merry and bright at The Lexicon this Christmas
C
hristmas at The Lexicon is in full swing as shoppers and diners enjoy the festive ambience created by a town centre full of sparkling lights, musical entertainment and festive market stalls. Visitors will discover a spectacular giant Christmas bauble on The Avenue, creating the perfect backdrop for that all important festive image. There’s a Twinkle Trail for families to follow around the town centre, with twelve spectacular bauble designs to discover. For the fifth year running, the baubles for the trail, were created by local primary school children with more than 200 beautiful designs submitted. In addition to providing a fun and free activity for families, all correct and completed entry forms will be entered into a draw for the chance to win one of six fantastic prizes: three-month Gymfini-
ty kids membership (two children and two adults) at Cineworld, £50 gift card
for Zizzi and a stationery refresher pack from Smiggle.
And, on Sunday, December 17, there’s an extra treat for younger visitors, to meet big friendly dog, Hey Duggee, in Princess Square. There’s also likely to be some walkin spaces available for The Lexicon Glow Room, a light and sound experience for all the family and The Lexicon Light Pool, a huge ball pit with a sparkling difference. As in previous years, The Lexicon is also supporting Bracknell Food Bank via donations to visit The Lexicon Light Pool, The Lexicon Giving Box appeal which saw almost 200 advent calendars distributed to local families, as well as a number of retailers doing individual activities to raise money for this local charity. Snow artist creates perfect festive window for estate agents PHOTOS BY PAUL KING

f the eyes are the window to the soul, then a shop window is the gateway to a business. Tom Baker of Snow Windows took the area by storm back in 2007 when he created amazing window scenes using artificial snow – and he is still as popular today. His latest creation is for David Cliff Estate Agents in Peach Street
– and it has to be the best shop window in Wokingham. The estate agents had some input into the design because they wanted it to reflect their work with local charity The Link Visiting Scheme – and then Tom let the creative juices flow. Tom, who lives in Sandhurst, did his first window this year on October 20th and his last will be around about De-
cember 17th. He said: “Each window is unique and we encourage every client to be involved in the design process to make it personal to them or to include a particular service or product they wish to promote. But we are just as happy to design it all and I still enjoy it after all these years. It is quite intense as I

have maxed out the hours I can work but you meet nice people and it’s lovely to get into the Christmas vibe and bring a little joy.” Over the last 5 years, Tom has worked with companies such as Harvey Nichols, Mars, Cisco, Gaggenau, Costa and Audi. He even travels as far afield as Madrid in Spain.
