MODULE DESCRIPTION

This module focus on developing the concepts for design proposals.

It introduces us to the space programming, overseeing the design process's structure, and carrying out the task until the final state. Additionally, it taught us to the site consideration to help us have a better choices while looking for potential design solutions. In order to produce a successful interior design solution, we will be required to consider and create methods related to personal subject matter that reflects identity, materials and processes, construction and technology, ergonomics, and lighting.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

CRAFTAGARICUS To elaborate on the title, "craft" means "make" while "agaricus" means "mushroom". With the tagline Making Lively, it portrayed the idea of eliminating the dull atmosphere at the place. To briefly explain my space, it loacted at REXKL, Jalan Sultan, Kuala Lumpur.

It is function as a wood workshop that offer a unique craft which I called a parasite sculpture. It is a combination of wood sculpture as a host to allow mushroom grow on it as wood itself is also a good platform for them to grow. It educates people how wood could be a sustainable way to grow mushroom and to let them experiment and experience the beauty of mushroom in collaboration with customized wood making.

PROJECT 01 BUILDING [NOOKS]: SITE EXPLORATIVE

In this project, we are to perform a site analysis by paying a physical visit to there, observing the physical attributes and intangible aspects.

Not only that, but also the neighboring buildings, materials used, form, height and other physical characteristic as all are the important elements that could develop the design idea. Witht that we have to find the subject matter and come out with a design solution by understanding the site. Then, all the information are compile in an Abstract Narrative (Storytelling) of the findings.

OUTCOME

PROJECT 02 IMAGINATIVE DESIGN MAKING

In this project, we are assigned in to group of 3. It is a continuous project from project 1 where we have to retract the identity and subject matter of the site by having a creative design solution to it with specific theme. We are required to come out few keywords to support and visualize the design concept and show rich space programming, After that, 3D model is done to demonstrate more clearer idea of the conceptual elements.

PROJECT 03 [RE-IMAGINED] ALTERNATIVE NARRATIVE

This is the final phase where inherited from previous projects. We are to design and build the interior of the given site (REXKL) by using the keywords and subject matter defined, showing detail space programming,narrative and great excecution of the idea and theme individually.

REFLECTION

Overall, this semester is the best semester i expereinced before as finally the classes are all conducted physically, I met some new friends, even have more bond with the friends from previous sem.

By going through this module, I learned how to make a good site analysis and to design something that to solve the issue by extracting out the subject matters and idea defined. Not only that, but most importantly i challenged and discovered my possibility to design more complex strcuture in this semester.

The moment I felt interesting is when doing the walkthrough video, it is so satisfying to look at all the blooad, sweat and tears that i made for months and i really feel like i am immersing into it. Whereby the moment i felt hard is when doing the sketchup model. It is because the complexity of the design results the file too big, lagging and crash. I faced the worst issue is that all my files gone when nearly to the submission, but thanks god that I have my backups files plus the progress check from tutorial, I have archive.

To conclude, even though it is really tough in this semester but I did discovered my ability and capability to do things well. I literally learned a lot not only from the module itself but from myself, the determination, hardwork, time management, leadership and many more.
