ABOUT THE MODULE This module introduces us to the services and architectural science in buildings. For examples, including the thermal performance of buildings, active and passive thermal controls, natural and artificial lighting, and building acoustics, as well as water supply and distribution, sewage treatment, and electricity generation and distribution. It also aimed to let us understand how the services installed and applied in buildings to make users feel comfortable, functional, efficient and safe.

This module practices the environment analysis skills and trained my critical thinking of how to apply correct building services for client needs.

The module introduced useful and practical knowledges and trained us to be able to justify the application of building services, where it would be useful in my design.

This module also trained us to be independent in term of research and study the calculation and application for the building services.

PROJECT 1 LIGTHING AND VAC DESIGN FOR COMFORT 04

For this project, we are to select a space in our own house and analyse the building services mainly lighting and VAC system as well as point out the problems that could be discovered in the space that not well performed to own needs. By deep analysis and understanding, we are then to redesign the light and VAC system in the space and to justify the reasons.

PROJECT 2 INDOOR THERMAL INSULATION DESIGN AND ‘INVENTION’ 34

For this project, we are to study the heat transfer rate for a for a room and found out the wall that have a highest heat ransfer rate by calculation qualitatively. With that, we are to design a panel or covering to reduce the heat transfer rate in result to make the room cooler.

FINAL PROJECT BUILDING SERVICES DESIGN IN INTEGRATED DESIGN PROJECT 92

For this project, we are to use back the design we did in Interior Architecture design 3 module and to apply the necessary lighting and VAC system that meet the space function needs with calculation and justifications. Not only that, we are to justify the water plumbing network and drainage system by selected a room with water feature.

OVERALL REFELCTION Throughout the module, I am now understand the calculation of building services and how and where to apply them. It is very interesting that I have discovered a lot of details in building services that I did not notice before like the different type of lights and how the elctric wire run in the wall. One of the most exciting thing is when paying a visit to Daikin Solution Plaza at Desa Park City as that is the first time I met lecturer and classmates that we've been through online for past few weeks.

Not only that, it is also interesting during Project 2 as it allow me to do own window covering with real life material that really function well. I am also very excited and impressed when looking all the classmates bring their prototype into the class during presentation, It was really a memorable moment. In a nutshell, I am glad I've complete this module with gaining all the important lifelong knowledges and expereince!
