Hospice boost from community events

Two big town events in South Molton last year raised £1,680 for North Devon Hospice.

The town council organised the fireworks display and the Christmas lights switch-on (above), both held in November. Jadeen Lowe, from North Devon Hospice’s fundraising team thanked everyone who supported the evenings, “South Molton is a very special community and they came out in force for two fantastic nights.” “It was lovely to see so many people enjoy the fireworks and cheer when the Christmas lights were switched on. Even more special was the fact how generous local people were at both events. Every pound will make a real difference to the local families we care for.” Jade Kingdom, who performed the lights switch-on with Mayor Mervyn Way, has herself raised almost £20,000 for the charity.
