Pop up vaccination clinic for South Molton

With the government announcing a ramping up of the booster programme in response to the rapid spread of the new Omicron variant of Covid-19, a pop-up vaccination clinic will be held at South Molton Pannier Market.

It is due to take place on Tuesday, January 25th between 11am and 5pm, delivering 1st, 2nd and 3rd jabs along with boosters. The vaccine offered is currently Pfizer.

“The past few weeks have been very busy for the service as we are now supporting vaccination walk-ins throughout North Devon,” said local vaccine and testing coordinator John Thornton. “It has proved successful, helping people who find it difficult to get to Barnstaple Leisure Centre.”

With the increased workload delivering the booster rollout, it means there won’t be testing available in South Molton on January 11th and 18th. Free Covid tests are usually available from the mobile unit on The Square in South Molton on Tuesdays (9am to 12.30pm) and Fridays (1.30pm to 5pm).

By the third week of December positive cases remained very high but were falling; 559 in North Devon (from 708 last month) and 420 in Mid Devon (510 last month).
