England debut for North Devon player Former West Buckland student and North Devon Cricket Club player Jamie Overton won his first senior cap for the England Cricket team, scoring 97 runs and taking a wicket in the victory over New Zealand on his thrilling debut. “It has been a dream of mine to play for England, and now it has happened,” said Jamie. “Contributing to a win and a series win puts the cherry on top.” In a proud moment for his family, he was presented with his England Cap on June 23rd by his twin brother Craig, who is also part of the national cricket squad. England won the test series over New Zealand 3-0.
