Garden project is growing
by Rebecca Blackman
We’ve poured a lot of love into the South Molton Community Garden recently, and it feels like it is now giving back tenfold. We’ve been picking punnets of strawberries, blackcurrants, gooseberries, redcurrants and early raspberries.

The herb garden is now established enough to start using the herbs and the first mint tea felt like cause for celebration! There have been a couple of unusual flowers in the garden, including an enormous artichoke flower and a houseleek. All the crops are growing well, apart from the carrots, which sprouted and then promptly disappeared!
We received a donation of manure for the garden in exchange for mucking out some calf boxes - many thanks to Brian Nicholas for the manure, and glad we could help with the mucking out!
If you’re interested in joining the Community Garden, please come along on a Thursday afternoon, weather permitting, around 2.30pm. It is at the top of the Sheep Fair Field - or email: somocogarden@gmail.com
