Local property market bouyant South Molton has seen ‘record levels’ in house sales in recent months across all price sectors, with buyers from out of the area and locals. Christine Brend from Webbers explains more: Given our beautiful location and convenient connections, it is no surprise that over the past year there has been huge demand for homes in the area, this is consistent throughout all town, village and rural locations. Recent research shows that the pandemic has pushed people into making potentially a ‘once in a life-time’ moving decision, with the large numbers of people who either want more space or are working from home! Despite the end of the current stamp duty holiday coming closer, the activity and demand is gaining momentum again since the New Year, with many buyers focussed more on the move and lifestyle change, than any possible tax saving. We will know more about any changes or adjustments to the stamp duty holiday in the chancellor’s Budget on March 3rd.
