Extra £600,000 for potholes You can’t drive far on our local roads before coming across potholes - the A377 around Umberleigh, for example, is perhaps one of the worst affected. Devon County Council is responsible for our highways, and now they’ve given the green light to an extra £600,000 to be spent on pothole repairs and drainage. Council leader John Hart said, “Keeping our roads in a decent state of repair is a neverending job and there is never enough money to complete the job.” “But it’s vital for all our residents and it’s vital for our businesses. I hope that this extra cash will help us meet people’s expectations.”
