A striking moorland mural has been painted on the gable end of a house at Umberleigh. It shows a chance encouter, as a man and his dogs come across a stag and a herd of deer on their daily walk on Exmoor. James Lewis commissioned his friend and artist John Crush to paint the scene on his home alongside the A377. It took seven weeks to create the artwork.

James said, “Years ago my grandad and I were walking our dogs and the deer were on one side of the wall and the dogs on the other, so this is like a moment captured.”
