Aħbarijiet Mill‑Missjoni

Dear Msgr Valent,

Greetings of peace and joy to you in the Lord.

I am very happy that the General Ordinary Subsidy sent by Missio Malta has been received by the Apostolic Nunciature in India and it will be sent to the seminary. On behalf of the staff and the seminarians, I sincerely thank you and all the collaborators of Missio Malta for the marvellous contribution made towards the grant for the maintenance of the seminary.

At present, there are 84 seminarians and 11 members of staff in this academic year 2021‑2022. The grant is very essential to provide for the day‑to‑day needs of the seminarians in view of their poor economic background and lack of sufficient resources in the dioceses. Therefore could not contribute anything for the formation, hence they totally depend on the seminary for their formation. Such basic needs include: food, books, medicines and academic activities,

Dear Msgr Valent,

Greetings from Malawi, in particular, Karonga. We have finished the house of Grace. She’s very grateful to Missio Malta and the benefactors. We had not planned for the pitlatrine (toilet) and bathroom, but we found it necessary, that is why we had to construct it for her. We are very sorry that this time we were a bit slow, it was because we were hit hard by the third wave of COVID‑19. We are always grateful to you, Missio Malta and all the benefactors for your support. This makes us feel the universality of the Catholic Church and most importantly, the merciful love of Jesus in a concrete and real way.

May God bless you.

amongst others. Due to lack of resources in the dioceses, the local church too could not contribute as most of the faithful are poor.

Once again thank you for your prayers and financial support in the formation of priests. We continue our prayers that God bless you with good health and fruitful mission.

With prayerful wishes, yours sincerely in the Lord,

Greetings of peace and joy of our Lord Jesus Christ!

I hope you are keeping fine and doing well during this tough and strange time of the pandemic.

You would be glad to note that the church is coming up beautifully well. I have fixed the statues on the top of the building: Jesus standing between two angels blessing everybody and the whole mission.

Now painting and electricity works remain. Hopefully by the first or second week of this month it will be ready. I am sorry the work is being delayed due to the pandemic. Anyway so far so good. Once everything is completed, I will approach the bishop for the final blessing and the inauguration of the church.

This is the update I have for you from my mission. I am very grateful for all that you are to me and my mission. You are in my daily prayers.

With gratitude and prayers,

Father Jai Prakash Francis Joseph
