Cycle the Federation Trail
Camels, llamas and parmas
Itinerary: Get outdoors on this easy 16km gravel ride loop between Lancefield and Romsey that largely travels on a dedicated shared path. Combine with a visit to the monthly Lancefield Farmers Market or local cellar door for a great day out.
Itinerary: Kick off with an early morning hike to the top of Camels Hump on Mt Macedon, known for its fantastic views. Follow it up with a guided llama trek to Hanging Rock Reserve. Then reward yourself with a well-earned pub parma and local craft beer.
Rock and ride family adventure
Itinerary: Enjoy a morning stroll or game of frisbee in one of the region’s most impressive open gardens, Forest Glade Gardens in Mount Macedon. Pick up a unique plant from a rare plant nursery, go wine tasting at a local cellar door, then indulge with lunch at a vineyard or pub.
Itinerary: Book a one hour family ride along the old Cobb & Co stagecoach route in a vintage horse drawn carriage guided by Rose and her friendly horse Patrick. Swing by Woodend Children’s Park or enjoy lunch at a local pub in Woodend. Finish off the day with a hike or fish at Hanging Rock Reserve.

Itinerary: Traverse small, friendly cellar doors from Malmsbury to Pipers Creek to Lancefield on this spring sparkling wine trail. It’s a great way to explore scenic back roads while enjoying the amazing cool climate sparkling wines our region is known for.
Itinerary: Go on a horse ride with amazing views of the Macedon Ranges and the Wombat Forest with Silver Brumby Trails. Unwind afterward at an urban cellar door hidden in one of Kyneton’s laneways and enjoy a wine tasting and cheese plate.
