Talented Bromsgrove Violinist releases CD A
ccomplished local musician Charlotte Moseley has added another achievement to her list by releasing her first CD on Harlequin records. Charlotte began playing the violin aged 5, following in the footsteps of her musician parents Alastair and Cathy Moseley from their home in Bromsgrove. Her first public performance was in St John’s Church at the age of eight. Charlotte is now the leader of the Orchestra of St John - a position she has held the life of the Orchestra which was founded in 2011. From local beginnings at school in Bromsgrove, with violin as her passion, Charlotte went on to study violin at Chethams School of Music in Manchester where she was awarded the school’s Mozart Scholarship for outstanding chamber music work. During her time at Chethams Charlotte won the prestigious Dewhurst and Torevell Prizes, appeared on Radio 3’s ‘In Tune’ programme with Petroc Trelawny as well as leading the prestigious CBSO Youth Orchestra. She then commenced her undergraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and on graduation, went on to further her education and study at the Royal Academy of Music. Charlotte graduated with Distinction in 2017 and was awarded the highly respected Diploma of the Royal Academy for an outstanding final recital. In high demand as a soloist Charlotte has performed many pieces in her repertoire all around the UK and abroad, including performing regularly with the English Symphony Orchestra as co-leader. In 2018 Charlotte established the Sinfonia Dal Capo - a conductorless chamber orchestra which she leads and directs from the violin. Charlotte’s new CD features music from Elgar, Howell, Kreisler and Faure. Accompanying Charlotte is her father Alastair Moseley, himself and accomplished and well respected pianist and clarinetist. The father daughter duo gave their first recital together when Charlotte was just nine years old and have performed many times together since. The CD is available for £10 via Charlotte’s website www.charlottemoseley.co.uk
