Brighten up your life with colour therapy
My articles this year will be themed on the holistic level of who and what we are but will also include why we need to take care of the emotional, mental, spiritual and physical aspects of ourselves.

Having been a colour consultant and teacher of the language of colour around the world for the last 30 years, this subject is very close to my heart. I will also be writing about other therapies that I have personally studied and taught. What is colour therapy?
Colour therapy is a subtle non invasive therapy using the colours the client has chosen for themselves during a consultation. A colour consultant will introduce the optimum balance of colour energies in order to promote harmony and balance between the physical body, the mind, the emotions and the spiritual aspect of the self.
There is never a time or place when we are without colour. Some people dream in colour, others talk in colour and we live in a colourful world. We eat and drink colour and we are constantly bombarded with colour through the TV, billboards, adverts, company logos and our clothes. As Shakespeare said: As a man thinketh so he becomes.
Only when our colours are in balance can we work towards a state of perfect health. Colour therapy is a complementary therapy that works well with many other methods of treatments. If you think of a newborn baby with jaundice, a hospital will put the baby under an ultraviolet light. Another aspect of colour therapy is sitting in front of an infra-red lamp for a sore shoulder or back.
Colour consultants can use colour to balance energy, help aid creativity and learning, release blocks and alleviate physical, emotional and mental conditions. It helps people understand their needs for certain aspects in their life. Colours will show how to help healing, health, relaxation, inspiration and protection.
Returning to the physical aspect of colour we have the rainbow diet. Rainbow diet
We need different colours in our diet daily. When you look at a plate of food you need to see five different colours. For example: Salmon – coral Corn – yellow Peas – green Potatoes – white Tomato sauce – red Supplements
Another important area. Many people today eat only processed foods that are cheap and lacking nutrition. Therefore, we all need to supplement with vitamins, minerals, and probiotics and omega fats. To find out more, contact me at colette@need4change.com

Easy as Pie! T he 2nd March heralds the start of a celebration of a much-loved comestible - British Pie Week! It’s so simple to make your own at home with either a pastry crust or thatch of mashed potatoes. But the secret to a good pie is the filling. Whether you prefer slowcooked steak and ale, creamy chicken and ham, or earthy spinach and mushroom, all benefit from a splash of Kikkoman soy sauce. Simply use in place of regular table salt for added richness.
Kikkoman soy sauce is a handy store cupboard seasoning for all kinds of dishes as it actually enhances the flavours of other ingredients. The lengthy natural brewing process produces high levels of umami – the fifth taste sensation which brings out savoury flavours on the tongue without overpowering. Unlike other soy sauces, Kikkoman is made with just 4 pure ingredients – soybeans, wheat, salt and water – and no artificial additives whatsoever so you know you are getting the very best quality. Find Kikkoman’s iconic designer bottle in supermarkets priced around £2.50.
