On the basis of accurately collected literature from a variety of different kinds of fields and eras, 'Substanz ohne Form' ('substance without a form') depicts a critical reflection of our modern, progressive society. The discourse of a reorientation based on so-called primitive cultures as a possible answer to our planets' crisis constitutes the main focus of the book.
This point of view has already been introduced to the public with the idea of 'Primitivism' - a philosophical movement circa the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century, when colonization and the First World War fundamentally changed society.
The primitive ideology mainly took place within circles of artists. Development of references on this were predominantly gathered from anthropological research papers. Worth noting though ironic, plundered artifacts from around the globe played a main source of inspiration for the movement of Primitivism.
