jax Tocco International in Birmingham is the UK Service Centre for the Global giant in induction heating, Ajax TOCCO Magnethermic Corporation, with World headquarters in Ohio, USA. ATI’s Manufacturing Department manufactures all types of power delivery items including water-cooled power delivery leads, busbars, coils and inductors for all makes of equipment. Lee Townsend, Manager of the Manufacturing Department ensures work is completed to the high standards expected from such a high profile Company. Lee says “the team in the coil manufacturing department have over 60 years experience between them, from manufacture / repair of process coils through to 10 tonne vacuum furnaces and anything in-between”. ATI’s Field Service Department has UK based Engineers who are highly trained to deal with preventative maintenance, servicing, and emergency repairs on a variety of makes of equipment. Service Coordinator, Pauline Berry, states “We can offer both site support and phone support to resolve your issues and keep production running. We have the resource of both the UK and a Worldwide pool of Engineers to call upon to ensure around the clock, around the World coverage – 24/7, 365” ATI’s Spares Department offer critical spare parts for
all makes of equipment and are stocked and controlled at the facility to support our own Field Service Engineers or to allow in-house repairs by the Customer. Ajax TOCCO also promote this self sufficiency by providing tailored training courses for the Customer’s own employees. ATI’s Contract Heat Treatment Department is managed by Christopher Kenward and Vince Holyoak . It consists of 17 induction machines that operate day and night to ensure a speedy turn around for Customers requiring heat treated products - from 1 off’s to continuous production. Metallurgical and quality staff ensure consistently high standards, which are supported through our ISO 9001 / 2000 procedures. Vince says “The sub-contract department at Ajax TOCCO is the largest, most up to date induction heat treatment facility in the country. Plus we have a distinct advantage over the competition by having the support of our other departments”. Ajax TOCCO Magnethermic has recently been enhanced by the acquisition of SAET EMMEDI in Turin, Italy who also manufacture induction heating equipment. They specialise in heat treatment machines and will really strengthen Ajax TOCCO Magnethermic’s position in Europe.
