HelloAll,

Adynamic December to you.

I chose “dynamic” as a descriptor because I’ve always held that December is the month that sees both the end of one year and the beginning of another. This allows us to reminisce over the many joyous moments we’ve been afforded and perhaps overlook the less joyous ones. For me, the collective of the two is where I find my gratitude for the breadth of the year’s experiences. We’ll be in the midst of the winter holidays in little more than a moment. This can bring a myriad of emotions fostering smiles, tears, levity, and tension. I enjoy that it all can be shared readily within our little hamlet. There’s always someone nearby who can be lifted up by hearing of our joys, and there’s always someone to lift us up when we’re not enjoying a day as much as we’d like to.Again, choosing “dynamic” seems so accurate when describing the place we call home… LAKE PARK

SANTAANANORTH!!!

December brings around some of the official business that is part of the Social Club duties. The election of our 2026 Board of Directors will be on Tuesday, December 9th, at the General Meeting.Attendance is important if you’re able. Nominations from the floor will be accepted. So, here’s your opportunity to join in the fun or nominate someone you think would be a good addition to the leadership of your Social Club. Our annual holiday dinner will be on Saturday the 13th. Be sure to get your tickets early.

The year has been tremendously rewarding for me. Being part of a team of resident volunteers that unite to bring smiles and giggles to our community is truly extraordinary. Thank you all for allowing me to experience firsthand what I consider to be one of the true luxuries of living here. I’m also thrilled to see so many of our neighbors, both new and long standing, coming out and sharing in the plethora of activities and events we have on the calendar.

As always, I look forward to seeing you soon.

Warmest regards and Happy Holidays to all,

DGM912@AOL.COM

If you or your neighbor is sick, injured, or hospitalized, please call Jodi Faber, LPSAN We Care Coordinator, at 714-345-4662, or send an email to the social club, LPSANSC@gmail.com.

Jodi will reach out for permission to include the resident in this section. Due to privacy regulations (HIPPA), personal and/or medical information cannot be shared without consent.

• Lou Carlson (2628 Shadow Lake) has been experiencing several medical challenges requiring hospitalizations and therapies. Please keep Lou and his wife, Karen, in your thoughts and prayers.

• Dixie Shedwell (2629 Shadow Lake) was in the hospital, but she is now home and recovering. Dixie just needs time to regain her strength, and we’re sure Bruce is helping with an exercise plan.

• Mary Bossenmeyer passed away on November 10, 2025. Cards may be sent to Bob Bossenmeyer and the family at 1624 Canyon Lake. Bob and Mary were married for 60+ years. Services were held on November 17, 2025.

The flu season has started, and it appears to be a nasty one. We know a few residents have been ill, so please remember to continue strict hygiene practices. Living in a 55+ community typically means we have a larger percentage of individuals with compromised immune systems. If you have a cold or the flu, please do not attend any activities until you have been symptom-free for five days.

It’s a Lake Park SAN Tradition

Reminders from Your Park Managers – December 2025

With the holiday season upon us, we want to take a moment to share our warmest wishes with all of you. The holidays bring special times for celebration, reflection, and coming together as a community. Whether you’re traveling to visit loved ones, welcoming friends and family, or simply enjoying peaceful moments at home, we hope this season brings joy and comfort.

• Holiday Decorations – We look forward to seeing all the festive decorations in our community. Please make sure your decorations do not obstruct pathways or public areas.

• Yard Access – Management, per your lease, has the right to access your yard to check on utilities. If you have a lock on your gate, you are required to provide management with a key or the combination. While our homesites do have zero-lot lines, residents and their service contractors/providers should never enter a neighbor’s yard or patio without the neighbor’s consent. If your neighbor is not home and you need urgent access to their yard or patio, you may contact the management office. If management feels your access need is immediate, they will assist you.

• Pets – Please keep in mind that LPSAN Community Guidelines clearly state that a maximum of two pets are allowed per homesite. Also, residents should walk pets in the streets. Pets should never use another resident’s yard as their relief station

• Parking – During the holidays, guest parking can fill quickly. If guests must park on the street because all Guest Parking spots are being utilized, please make sure all the residents on your street have their guests park on only one side of your street. If someone else’s guest is already parked on one side of your street, please have your guest park on the same side. If you have any questions or need additional information, please call the office before the holidays.

• Package Deliveries – If you are expecting deliveries, please be mindful of the estimated delivery times and collect the packages promptly. If you are not going to be home, ask a neighbor to pick up your delivery. Removing delivered items as soon as possible will help keep our community free of Porch Pirates.

We wish you a happy, healthy, and safe holiday season and new year!

Wayne & Davina

Please be mindful of noise levels and respect your fellow residents. Noise-generating work/services are restricted to: Weekdays: 7am to 6pm ⚫ Saturday & Sundays: 9am to 6pm

Faith, Hope, and Love

December is filled with holidays, family traditions, the gathering of friends, and celebrations. Then, the world turns to December 31st and ushers in a New Year!

It is also a time when families gather in the warmth of their homes. Throughout the month, our thoughts and actions turn toward charity and peace. During the twelfth and final month of the year, December inspires a flurry of activity both in the business world and our personal lives. Sales, shopping, family gatherings, school holidays, baking, and seasonal changes remind us of the past while we look to our futures.

I don’t know about you, but I love baking, sharing, and eating a variety of homemade cookies and breads in December. According to the American Heart Association, the average American consumes around 60 pounds of added sugar per year, which means that, on average, roughly 5 pounds of sugar would be consumed in December, assuming a relatively even distribution throughout the year. Personally, my sugar consumption is not equal across twelve months; however, the American Heart Association did not question me.

It’s my pleasure to produce the LPSAN newsletter each month, and I thank you for your suggestions, submissions, and feedback. I wish you, my friends and neighbors, a Merry Christmas, and a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year.

PS: If this message sounds familiar, it’s because I read what I wrote in December 2024, and my feelings and wishes are truly the same. May God bless you.

Giggles & Groans

The following are actual questions guests have asked while cruising. The crews must Giggle & Groan frequently.

- Is that island surrounded by water?

- What do you do with the ice sculptures when they melt?

- Why did the Greeks build so many ruins?

- Do you and the rest of the crew sleep on board?

- When the ship is at anchor tomorrow, can we walk ashore?

- How do I know which photos are mine?

Park Santa Ana North Social Club General Meeting Minutes October 14, 2025

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Dan Miller, President at 7:05 p.m.

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT:

 Dan Miller  Scott McKee  Jodi Faber  Lynn Dahnke  Beverly McDougall  Ron Ruvalcava  Bonnie Kamp  Jeff Cantrell  Kim Cantrell

FLAG SALUTE: Chuck Loffler led the Pledge of Allegiance.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Dan Miller thanked everyone for coming out, and he led a lengthy discussion regarding safety and security Dan restated that he has continually been on a proverbial soapbox about Critters & Creeps, garage doors being left open, and food sources for wildlife. He then warned everyone that he was now yelling from the soapbox! On Monday, October 12th, between 2:58am and 3:15am, several residents captured images of two non-residents wandering in the community. While there were no reports of vandalism or theft, Dan reminded everyone about leaving porch lights on for security and shutting garage doors completely at night Upon review of cameras, LP and resident-owned, it was determined that the male and female made entry into LP as a resident drove out. The female dashed through the gate at the last minute and proceeded to open the pedestrian gate for her male companion. No one knows whether they were “scouting” the Park or mistakenly assumed they found a shortcut to reach another street. Dan reminded everyone and asked those in attendance to remind their neighbors that we, unfortunately, do not live in a bubble of security. LED dusk-to-dawn lightbulbs are cheap, and they cost less than $5 per year to use. A question was posed “Can you put their picture on Facebook.” Dan will check on legal concerns

Dan’s final words regarding Critters & Creeps: Have you met any of the 8 to 10 individuals who became residents in the last couple of months? Awareness! Leave the Lights On! See Something, Say Something! If you don’t know individuals walking in our community, stop them, introduce yourself, and make sure they have a reason for being here.

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Dan reminded everyone that the Social Club’s Minutes are on a clipboard on the library door, and they are printed in the newsletter

TREASURER’S REPORT: Dan presented the Financial Report on behalf of Lynn Dahnke.

OPENING BALANCE — SEPTEMBER 1, 2025: $ 8,056.29

Revenue: $ 2,668.26

Expenses: $ 2,262.47

ENDING BALANCE — SEPTEMBER 30, 2025: $ 8,462.08

Net Change: $ 405.79

Lynn highlighted a few expenses and savings. Scott McKee and Dan Miller worked on the audio visual, the social club bought 244 tablecloths in a variety of colors to capitalize on savings, $9 for a package of twelve. Lynn reported complete Resident Directory update will begin in February/March 2026. Lynn gave “KUDOS” to the Dinner Committee for their baked potato feast! The NET income from the dinner before the entertainment expense was $244.00, after adding the entertainment expense, the event net was -$155.66 Lynn also stated she had placed a personal order with Walmart, and they charged the wrong credit card. Lynn has reimbursed the Social Club, and it will show as income in October. The Treasurer’s Report was approved with Motion from Cindy Robertson and a Second from Candi Hyter

WE CARE: Jodi Faber happily reported that she had nothing to share. However, she is aware of some residents facing medical issues, but they don’t want their information made public. Jodi still sends cards.

MANAGEMENT: Wayne and Davina were unable to attend.

General

UPCOMING EVENTS:

-MONTHLY DINNER: October 18th is a potluck dinner and costume contest. Costume registration starts at 4:45pm, and there will be one Grand Prize, dinner tickets for a future social club dinner. Dan reported that Del Supik will be back as the bartender, and the 16-piece OC Swing Band, with our very own Mark Kamp and Eric Smith, will be entertainment.

-ELECTIONS: The elections for the 2026 Social Club board positions will be held in December. We will discuss this more at the November meeting. All current board members have confirmed they are willing to serve in 2026. Andrea Bruneniek is the Chair of the Nomination/Election Committee. The elected positions are President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. The four Members at Large are appointed by management. This is your opportunity to volunteer! The nominating process starts in November, and the voting is done at the December General Meeting.

-COMMUNITY HOLIDAY YARDART: We need volunteers to help with “refreshing“ the large wooden display decorations. They need to be sanded and repainted. If you can help, call Jodi Faber or Karen Wallo. There are approximately 10 pieces that need to be refreshed.

-EMERGENCY PLAN: Wayne is working on the procedures and components. He may have more information at the next meeting. We still need volunteers to sign up.

-HOLIDAY DECORATIONS: It’s time to decorate the park. Join us on Saturday, November 29th We need volunteers starting at 8:30am. Coffee and donuts will be ready at 8am.

-INTRODUCE YOURSELF: Dan reminded everyone to greet their new neighbors and talk to them about the events we have here in the park. Why not invite them to the Friday Night Social!?!?!

SPECIAL PRESENTATION:

On behalf of the former Lake Park Homeowners Association, Cindy Robertson, former HOA President, explained that the HOA’s request to the State of California to “Dissolve” was approved and filed. Only one step was left to complete. The HOA was directed to provide their remaining funds to a non-profit organization, and the Lake Park Club – Santa Ana North was selected. Cindy presented an over-sized check to Dan Miller, President of the Social Club, in the amount of $8,982.37. Dan thanked Cindy and her fellow board members on behalf of our residents for their time and effort on a job well done.

OPEN FORUM:

- Cindy informed everyone that the exercise class led by Bruce is out of the pool and back in the clubhouse on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11am to Noon. Sometimes, we stay and have lunch together on Fridays.

- John Maher asked if we could have real cream for the coffee available He was informed that there is usually whipped cream in the refrigerator, so he withdrew his request. John did ask “if squirrels destroy roofs?” Per Dan, squirrels may chew the shingle edges to sharpen their teeth, and they get in the rain gutters looking for food

- Bob Bossenmeyer let everyone know that he’ll be coordinating the Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots donations from LPSAN, again this year. Donation boxes will be in the clubhouse only for security reasons. Please donate new, unwrapped toys.

ADJOURN:

The motion/second to adjourn was made by Ken Burke and Jeff Cantrell at 8:20pm

DRAWING WINNERS: Wes Shaw, Doddi Stirrat, Mike Stirrat, Ted Proffitt, and Steve Hyter

-We need a new Librarian. Jeanne Concitis has done a fantastic job for several years, but she has requested a replacement. Please thank Jeanne and help us find a Librarian. Dawn Castiglione will temporarily help, but we need a permanent volunteer. There was a brief discussion about library organization; possible reorganization to accommodate more books and games, and to preserve photo albums elsewhere.

-Tree trimming and replacement: Updates pending from EPM. Residents are encouraged to be patient or write letters to EPM, if desired. Bruce Nameth suggested putting in smaller trees in place of the ones they took out.

-Bulletin Board Etiquette – Groups are requested to be considerate when posting notices to avoid covering important/urgent information (e.g., Veterans list). Also, only half-sheet notices should be created. If fullpage notice is needed, contact Dan Miller before it is created.

How to solve sudoku puzzles
