NOTES FROM YOUR PEWRA BOARD The New 2026/2027 Board is as follows: Rick Towle-President, Jesse Nieto-Vice President, Tom Mathews-Secretary, Susan Friedman-Treasurer, Michael Ach-Director, Dawn MillerDirector and Malia Campbell-Director.

A few of the speeders have slowed down a bit. Please take it easy on the “Orange Slow Sticks”, a few of them along with the sandbags have been damaged by the speeders. We are looking into some more aesthetically pleasing options to replace these with. It has been reported that some of the speeders are drivers for AMAZON, UPS and FedEx. These companies do take these violations seriously, if you can please report this to their customer service departments.

A committee (Project 2037) is in the works to look at the end of the 2037 land lease. The committee will be chaired by a board member and composed of three residents and three board members. The committee will provide updates at the monthly Board Meetings.

It is the time of year when Coyotes are very active. Please keep a careful watch over your furry friends. Don’t leave open bowls of food out for them in your yard. Also make sure your trashcan lids are closed. It has been reported that the Coyotes don’t like the scent of WOLF URINE. They sell this on AMAZON, and I’m told it is an effective repellent. Does anyone know how this is collected? The Coyotes also like the dark. The park is in the process of installing a streetlight as a test to add some much-needed light to our dark areas. This will help remedy some health and safety issues.

Upcoming is the 4th of July and the 250th Anniversary of our country. If you are celebrating the day at PEW or out with family and friends, please celebrate safely and have a great time.

The Dumpster Day was a big success with 53 households contributing 40 yards of Junk to fill the Bin.

NEW MEDITATION CLASS on Thursday afternoons I am Sue Smith and have lived in PEW for 7 years. I would love to host free guided meditations in the Card Room on Thursday afternoons each week from 3:30 to 4:30.

No experience is necessary and all you need to bring is yourself. We will sit in the chairs so we can relax into them.

When we begin, I will guide us to ground ourselves to the center of the earth, allowing nourishing earth energy to come up our legs and into our lower energy centers. Then we will drop down from our minds into our heart space and open our energetic hearts to receive. Meanwhile, I will guide you to breathe in and out slowly and rhythmically in your normal pace. Then we will connect to the center of the Universe and allow our cosmic energy to enter from above.

That is the foundation of it. I will be speaking and holding space for the group. It will be 20-30 minutes with time for questions and comments. We will begin July 2nd. I look forward to seeing those that are curious and those that are already meditators.

PEW Book Club Greetings from the Book Club!

This month’s book is “Don’t Let Him In” by Lisa Jewell.
