Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Medline strives to build a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion where everyone can thrive and where everyone feels a sense of belonging. We believe tapping into the richness of our employees’ diversity allows us to develop innovative solutions for our customers, who themselves represent a diverse group in the U.S. and around the world.
Greater diversity is also connected to stronger business results. Gartner research reveals that “differences of age, ethnicity, gender and other dimensions foster high performance.” Furthermore, 75% of organizations with frontline decision-making teams that reflect a diverse and inclusive culture will exceed their financial targets, according to recent studies.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Team
Our growing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) team focuses on the strategic development of goals, initiatives, policies and programs that ensure diversity, equity and inclusion are incorporated into everything we do at Medline.
Mission: To enhance our work culture to make Medline the employer of choice for top talent.
The DEI team has identified priorities within strategic focus areas including culture, hire, engage and retain top talent, inclusive leadership and business enhancement. Through these endeavors, the team looks forward to introducing more initiatives designed to build diversity and inclusion at Medline.
Self-Identification initiative
The DEI team introduced a feature on MyMedline allowing employees to self-identify multiple facets of their identity including: race and ethnicity, veteran status, LGBTQ+ status and disability status. The Self-ID program is voluntary and optional, and the data shared will only be available in aggregate form.
This is an important step in enhancing our inclusive environment by better understanding our workforce. The aggregate information will help shape employee policies, programs and initiatives by:
• providing insights about our employee demographics
• helping the company implement policies that attract, grow and support our diverse workforce
• enabling us to measure our progress within diverse communities
All U.S.-based Medline employees can choose to make changes to their profiles by visiting the MyMedline portal on the Source, or speaking with their HRBP. Changes can be made at any time. If an employee changes their mind and no longer wants to self-identify, they may go back in and delete any info previously submitted. Please contact your manager or HRBP if you need instructions and/or assistance in accessing the portal or making updates.
We invite you to self-identify to the extent that you are comfortable— whether that is sharing some or all aspects of your identity that make you unique.
Employee Resource Groups
Medline is proud to have seven Employee Resource Groups (ERG’s),— and more to come. ERG’s are voluntary, employee-led groups that foster a diverse, inclusive workplace aligned with our mission, values, and goals. ERGs can enhance the company’s recruitment, retention, development and engagement by building community and a sense of belonging. belonging. They also offer employees a dedicated space to build stronger connections and get involved in cultural, educational, and outreach activities that support their professional development.
All ERGs are open to all employees who are supportive of the mission of the ERG and want to enhance the inclusive culture at Medline.
