Luxury Residential & Hospitality Landscape Estimator Opportunity Overview:
The Landscape Estimator will play a key role in translating client visions into actionable estimates by reviewing site plans, analyzing material requirements, and assessing labor needs.
This role involves working closely with project managers, designers, and subcontractors to ensure the seamless delivery of luxury outdoor spaces.
Given our portfolio’s complexity, we seek a candidate with experience estimating residential or landscape construction projects, preferably within luxury environments.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of the most prestigious outdoor projects in Northern California. Location:
Salary: Napa, CA
$90,000 – $115,000
(Higher compensation available, commensurate with skills and experience)
Key Responsibilities:
Estimate Preparation: Analyze site plans, blueprints, and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
Project Collaboration: Partner with designers and architects to refine project plans, ensuring alignment with budgets and timelines.
Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Review bids from vendors and subcontractors, ensuring the best pricing and fit for each project.
RFI Management: Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify project requirements with clients and subcontractors.
Client Communication: Engage with estate managers and high-net-worth clients to address feasibility, budget, and design challenges.
Cost Control: Monitor project budgets and proactively address potential cost overruns with the team.
Qualifications
Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in construction or landscape estimating. Residential construction experience is required; landscape construction experience is a strong plus.
Technical Expertise: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including knowledge of grading, drainage, and material requirements.
Design Insight: Landscape architecture background preferred—those with experience transitioning from design to estimating have excelled in this role.
Plant Knowledge: Familiarity with plant species (including Latin names) is advantageous.
Software Proficiency: Experience with estimating software and strong Excel skills are required. Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, with comfort in managing conversations about budget and construction feasibility with discerning clients.
