MEMarchitecture is service-driven. We tailor both service and design to our client’s unique needs and interests.
We insist on advanced construction methods and a collaborative project delivery process that takes full advantage of everyone’s expertise. We integrate smart home technologies and sustainable principles with refinement and sophistication.
Houman Sharif is personally present throughout the process, from as early as site selection through occupancy and beyond—an ongoing advisor to satisfied clients.
We impose no preconceived language, instead realizing the client’s aesthetic preferences through a set of guiding principles—the importance of continuity and coherence, the joys of light and transparency, and purity in the use of materials.
For us, true sustainability comes from an attentive response to site and a seamless integration of high-performance systems, beginning with the earliest design studies, not from an overlay of idiosyncratic materials.
Fundamentally, we believe that the details of the builder’s craft are essential for achieving the level of quality one expects in all the elements of one’s life, from clothing to automobiles to the domestic environment.
Houman Sharif, AIA, LEED® Accredited Professional, has more than two decades of experience in the design and construction of luxurious, sophisticated spaces that respond uniquely to the distinctive needs and desires of a select, discriminating clientele. His goal is the artful interpretation of the functional realities of rich and complex lives, rendered in exquisite details.
Holding a master’s degree in architectural engineering, he was educated in the atelier model, combining rigorous study of structural, technical, and material disciplines with an artist’s grasp of aesthetics—form, space, composition, color, and light.
Believing that the education of an architect is never complete, he maintains a keen, critical awareness of architectural developments around the world, always seeking new technical and formal possibilities.
He has honed his expertise in the intricacies of project approval, including zoning issues and neighborhood outreach.
A skillful and dedicated team builder, he enjoys an extensive network of top interior designers, landscape designers, contractors, construction managers, and other consultants.

MEMarchitecture is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the orchestration of its one-of-akind custom homes—projects that don’t just reflect their surroundings, but reshape them.
This is an opportunity to guide technically ambitious, design-rich work from concept through completion in a firm where architecture is both a calling and a craft.Architecture at this level leaves a lasting imprint.
The homes MEMarchitecture delivers become generational heirlooms, integral parts of the community fabric. They anchor families. They elevate neighborhoods.
And as Senior PM, your fingerprints are on every part of that process—from the earliest sketch to the final site walk.
This isn’t just a coordination role. It’s architectural stewardship. As Senior Project Manager reporting to and collaborating with MEM’s executive leadership team (Houman Sharif and Ghazaleh Jamei), you will:
Lead multiple custom residential projects from programming through construction administration.
Manage the development of complete, coordinated construction document sets ensuring both technical rigor and design fidelity.
Serve as the trusted primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and jurisdictional agencies.
Maintain ownership over project schedules, staffing plans, and deliverables keeping progress clear and teams aligned.
Mentor and supervise MEM’s growing internal teams (currently consisting of 5 architects), delegating responsibilities while modeling high standards of documentation and communication. Review consultant drawings and specifications, proposing design-forward solutions that meet constructability and performance needs.
Uphold the firm’s QA/QC process and CAD/documentation standards, protecting consistency across every detail.
This role is built for an architect who thrives at the intersection of vision and execution—someone with design fluency, technical depth, and quiet authority.
A professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
15+ years of architectural experience, with a portfolio that includes leadership on custom, high-end residential projects.
Expert knowledge of construction detailing, materiality, systems coordination, and residential building codes.
Strong communication skills and confidence presenting to clients and managing consultant relationships.
Fluency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe CS, and project tracking tools like MS Project.
A steady, methodical approach to leadership able to keep projects moving while holding high standards.
A deep appreciation for design, paired with the pragmatism to protect it in the field.
If you’re someone who finds joy in refining a wall section until it’s just right—or who feels a quiet pride when clients feel seen, heard, and cared for—this is your kind of role. Your thoroughness isn’t just welcome here. It’s essential.
Yes, the demands are high: fast-moving deadlines, discerning clients, and deeply customized designs. But that intensity is the forge. The upside? You’ll never wonder if your work matters. You’ll know.
At MEMarchitecture, technology is a tool not a burden. CAD standards are precise. Bluebeam is deeply integrated. Templates are thoughtfully structured. The systems are designed to reduce friction so you can focus on what really matters: solving problems, elevating design, and leading your team with clarity.
In-studio work environment, located in San Francisco’s Financial District
Competitive salary: $150,000–$180,000+ DOE
Annual bonus potential tied to firm-wide and individual performance
