About The Position Commercial Plumbing Project Manager
Ackerman Plumbing is seeking a Commercial Plumbing Project Manager to oversee the plumbing scope for the Westin Cocoa Beach Development, a landmark project featuring a 560-room hotel, a convention center, a parking garage, and a central energy plant. This position is crucial as Ackerman Plumbing continues its expansion into the Orlando market.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the subcontractors handling the labor while working closely with the General Foreman onsite to ensure the project’s smooth execution. Reporting directly to TJ, the Director of Construction, the role in this project will also contribute to Ackerman’s long-term growth goals in the Orlando region, with potential to help establish a permanent office in the area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the entire plumbing scope of the Westin Cocoa Beach Development, overseeing subcontracted labor and ensuring adherence to project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
Collaborate with the General Foreman to manage subcontractor teams, including project foremen and field staff, ensuring seamless project execution.
Oversee all relevant project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and scheduling, to ensure the project remains on track and within budget.
Serve as the key point of contact for all projectrelated communication between Ackerman leadership, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Support Ackerman Plumbing’s growth strategy in Orlando through a successful completion of this project and potential future initiatives in the region.
Ensure all insurances, safety protocols, and union guidelines are adhered to throughout the project, maintaining the company’s commitment to safety and excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5-10 years of experience in project management within the commercial mechanical or plumbing sectors. Previous experience as a Project Engineer (PE) is also considered.
Proven ability to manage large-scale commercial projects, particularly in hospitality or healthcare settings.
Expertise in plumbing systems, subcontractor management, and project documentation (RFIs, submittals, change orders).
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate between field teams, subcontractors, and company leadership.
Familiarity with BIM and Revit technologies is preferred, along with knowledge of other construction management tools such as AutoCAD and Trimble Total Station.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary: $120,000 to $135,000, commensurate with experience.
