A Night to Remembe A Night to Remembe

If you're looking for an evening that blends delicious food, vibrant culture, and unforgettable entertainment, Zaatar Syrian Lebanese Restaurant is the place to be.

The atmosphere at Zaatar is warm and inviting, with traditional décor that sets the tone for an authentic experience. The highlight of the night? The mesmerizing bellydancing performance. The dancer moved with such grace and energy—it was captivating. The live music added an extra layer of excitement, turning the entire dining area into a celebration. It wasn’t just entertainment; it was a cultural showcase that brought the restaurant to life

After dinner, we relaxed with a shisha. The flavors were smooth and aromatic, definitely worth trying. Sitting back under the night sky with friends, sharing stories over shisha, and soaking in the ambiance made for a perfect ending to the evening.

Of course, the food deserves its own praise. From the rich, creamy hummus to the perfectly grilled meats and fragrant salads, every bite was a delight. The service was attentive, and the staff clearly took pride in making sure we had a memorable night.

Zaatar isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. Whether you're a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine, live performance, or simply looking for a fun night out, I highly recommend giving it a visit

EVITACLITTORINA

Meet Cyprus’ first lady of fashion. The Diamond Diva drag queen and dazzling costume designer proves fashion is as much a performance as the stage itself

What came first for you drag or fashion design? And how did one influence the other? Definitely fashion It has been around me since I was born. Buba, my grandma, who turned 100 years old in February, is an incredible seamstress, and I was always watching and learning from her

Who are your biggest fashion influences? I admire many, but Jean Paul Gaultier and Karl Laggerfeld are with no doubt my all time favourites.

Do you remember the first outfit you ever designed for yourself in drag? Do I? Omg, yes I do. It was for my trial day at Madame Jojo´s in London and i had never done drag before, so I had to put a few things together that I bought at a charity shop I made a red mini skirt and a seethrough top, which weren´t too bad, but when it came to sorting my shoes out, I didn´t find my size so I had to cut the front and back of a very ugly pair of boots… but I got the job!!

How does your drag persona influence your design style? More than the persona is the numbers I am creating at that moment, but in general I like an elegant and sexy look

Whats the best thing about your job that you love? Definitely making people happy, even if it´s only for the duration of the show And of course, we all love a bit of attention, don´t we?

Where do you draw inspiration from when designing a new costume — music, film, history, pop culture? You have answered that question for me, really; all the above influence my design. I like to do some research beforehand, and then I let my brain and hands do the rest!

What’s your process for designing a new costume from concept to creation? I can generally visualize the finished outfit from the beginning, then I try to do some sketches of what I want to achieve, but I´m pretty bad at drawing, so the end result is usually quite different Some other times I start playing with the mockup fabric on the mannequin and go from there to cut the pattern and then to the materials that I use for the actual garment.

When did you know you wanted to become a drag artist? Oh I did not know, it was kind of self forced When I was living in London, my accent was too strong to get roles in plays, and Madame Jojo´s just appeared on my way. I fell in love with the idea instantly after seeing the incredible artists that were there performing.

How does it feel walking on stage knowing you designed every stitch of what you're wearing? It´s a wonderful feeling seeing your creations on stage, it´s like doing fashion shows every night! What else could I ask for

Would you ever consider designing for fashion labels? Nope, it scares me lol.

What’s been your proudest fashion moment?

Most of the costumes that I have designed for the two shows we have at Diamonds Showbar this year, but there is specially one that I have made for a finale number called Freedom that blows my mind, the movement that the costume has is insane!

How are you loving the season as a Diamond Diva? Loving it! Both the bar itself and the group have really stepped it up this season. My drag sister Gayle Force is the best person to have around me, both as a friend and a colleague and Alyssa Van Delle has a very powerful voice. Make sure to come to our shows!

The Rise of Love

Why Making An Effort Is a Dying Art In Dating

Modern dating is a circus where effort has taken a bow and left the stage. As a dating coach with 15 years of guiding singles, I’m seeing a surge in “lazy love” a half-hearted approach to romance that’s leaving everyone exasperated Men, in particular, are catching flak for refusing to drive to meet dates, insisting women come to them or meet halfway, as if love’s a budget courier service. Women aren’t immune either, with some cancelling thoughtful plans with a vague “something came up ” The result? A dating scene more frustrating than flirty. This laziness manifests in ghosting, one-word texts, and “Netflix and chill” as a first-date pitch. One client, Emma, 29, was asked to take a 40minute train to her date’s suburb because “parking’s tricky ” Romantic? Hardly So, what’s driving this apathy? Dating apps are partly to blame, turning romance into a buffet of endless options. Why charm one person when another’s a swipe away? The post-pandemic shift to convenience culture doesn’t help. Virtual dates trump in-person effort for many Economic pressures make splashing out tough, but a picnic costs less than a coffee, so it’s about priorities, not pounds.

v

Shifting gender dynamics add fuel. Some men feel modern dating’s expectations make effort futile, while women are tired of carrying the emotional load Both sides dig in, and resentment festers Psychologically, fear of rejection leads to low-stakes situationships over real commitment. Entitlement, fed by rom-com fantasies, convinces us love should be effortless. Spoiler: it’s not Lazy love erodes trust, blocking genuine intimacy If you can’t show up for a first date, how will you handle the big stuff ie conflict or commitment?

The fix? Reclaim effort as a virtue. Men, plan a date and show you care. Driving a few miles isn’t heroic, it’s basic Women, bring curiosity, not just expectations Ditch entitlement and embrace vulnerability; a date’s a chance, not a contract. Effort is sexy. Nothing says “I’m into you” like going the extra mile. Society should celebrate thoughtful gestures, and apps could reward planners Challenge yourself: ask better questions, listen harder, plan something intentional. Effort’s not dead; it just needs a kickstart.

DARYAFASHIONMODEL SEINAVA

How did you get started in modelling? Was it something you always wanted to do?

I didn’t exactly start my modelling career on my own. I was 13 years old and living in Belarus when my mom took me to a modelling school. At first, I was just a kid and didn’t really know if I liked it or not. But over time, as I started to see that I was good at it, I naturally wanted to keep growing in the industry

What was your first big break, and how did it feel?

Probably when I was invited to walk in a fashion show in Paris at the age of 16. That was my first experience on that level. As for how it felt it’s hard to describe It was incredibly exciting and inspiring!

What has been the most memorable moment in your modelling career so far?

It might sound cliché, but one of the most unforgettable moments was when my shoe slipped off right on the runway during a fashion show. In a moment of panic, I had to think fast and figure out how to handle it gracefully That’s definitely a moment I’ll never forget.

What challenges have you faced in the industry, and how did you overcome them?

The biggest challenge is the intense competition. Everyone is talented, beautiful, and driven I manage it by staying focused on my own work, continuing to grow, not comparing myself to others, and keeping a healthy mindset. That way, competition becomes motivation instead of pressure

How do you stay grounded in an industry that can be so focused on image?

I try not to compare myself to others and remind myself that appearance isn’t everything Confidence, personality, and the energy you bring are just as important. I stay grounded by focusing on self-development and staying true to who I am

What’s something people don’t realise about being a model?

Many people think modelling is all glam and easy, but in reality, it requires a lot of stamina. A single fashion show can take half a day or more — with fittings, rehearsals, waiting, and prep. Photoshoots are also intense sometimes you only have a couple of hours to deliver a wide range of quality shots, which can be mentally and physically exhausting

How do you prepare for a big shoot or runway show?

For fashion shows, the prep is usually minimal just making sure your appearance is neat and clean, shoes are ready, and no distracting details. But for shoots, I like to rehearse poses in front of a mirror and look for references online. It helps me save time on set and deliver strong results.

What’s been your favourite shoot or campaign to date and why?

My first lingerie show for Intimissimi. It was a big step for me, and I immediately felt confident. The whole atmosphere was magical full of flowers and spring vibes. The collection we presented was stunning, and the entire experience felt truly special

How do you manage the physical and mental demands of the job?

I listen to my body and don’t ignore signs of exhaustion. If I need rest, I take it. If I feel overwhelmed, I give myself a break Regular workouts, healthy eating, and finding moments of calm during the day really help. Emotionally, I rely on my support system and make sure I create space just for myself.

How would you describe your personal style off-duty? I go for comfort. Simple jeans, T-shirts, anything that feels easy to wear and lets me move freely The key for me is that it feels effortless

What advice would you give to aspiring models about confidence and self-love?

My biggest advice is: don’t be afraid to be yourself In modelling, staying true to who you are is everything Confidence comes from self-acceptance. Once you learn to love and value your unique features, no trend or outside opinion can shake your confidence.

Where do you see your career in the next five years?

We all know that the modelling industry in Cyprus is still developing, and since I plan to stay here, I hope to become part of that growth In the next five years, I want to not only succeed professionally but also contribute to the development o f the industry helping it expand, opening new doors, and inspiring others to pursue modelling as well

What Your Star Sign Says About Your Hair

Aquarius – the next big thing

Famous Aquarians include Megan Thee Stallion, Harry Styles, Shakira and Jennifer Aniston. It’s no surprise then, that Aquarians tend to be bold and set trends rather than following them Whatever an Aquarius chooses in the salon, it’s bound to be the next big thing a few months later.

Pisces – a classic Pisces are known for being imaginative, charming and compassionate, with a creative streak Pisceans tend to choose classic styles that can be played around with and swept back out of their face once they hit ‘focus’ mode. Think one length bobs, dreamy brunette tones and timeless glamour that can be done ‘up’ or ‘down’ easily

Aries – glamour Arians are bold, self-assured perfectionists; think Lady Gaga, Diana Ross and Sarah Jessica Parker They know what they want and they’re always going to look damn good doing it, so you best believe they choose cuts and colours they know will look great. Aries tend to opt for all one length cuts in a single colour, whether it be a platinum blonde bold bob or jet black lengthy tresses.

Taurus – homely and happy

The sign of Taurus are cosy comfy home bodies, who appreciate a sense of stability but have a penchant for the finer things in life. Shaggy cuts and bobs with bangs are ideal for Taurians as they require minimum effort but still look great even when a little tousled from lounging around all day!

Gemini – playful

Geminis are playful and fun, and in the salon I find them most likely to choose an emerging trend cut or to play around with colours. Their natural sense of curiosity also often results in them trying out lots of different styles rather than just sticking with one – but don’t let your Gemini friends book in on a whim after a break-up, as they have a tendency to act on impulse and may regret it later

Cancer

– romantic

Famous Cancerians include Princess Diana and Pamela Anderson – so you can see how their gentle, sensitive sides make them so lovable I find that Cancers choose lowmaintenance styles that are soft and fluffy. Think the Princess Di crop, beachy waves or embracing natural texture.

Leo

– a showstopper

Red-carpet ready born leaders, Leos command attention and aren’t afraid to turn heads

Taylor LaShae is a typical Leo. The french bob is a favourite amongst our fearless lions and lionesses, and colours such as rich golden oranges and sparkling brunettes suit them down to the ground.

Virgo – high-maintenance

Virgos make for fantastic hair salon clients – because they have such an organised nature, they’re always on time, never miss an appointment and are always booked up in advance! No matter how maintenance the style or shade, a Virgo will find a way to fit in its maintenance and will ensure that their locks are looking tip top as they buzz through life

Libra – a clean aesthetic

Kim Kardashian, Bella Hadid and Gwyneth Paltrow are all Librans: keen on finessing small details, always willing to lend a listening ear and constantly indecisive. While they have an eye for style and will want a clean aesthetic, Librans are particularly terrible at decision-making, and so I find that styles that are easy to maintain but with some versatility work best. Think a flippy bob, loose curls and plenty of accessories,

Scorpio – a compliment to their outfit

Scorpian anthem ‘I Whip My Hair Back and Forth’ was written by Willow Smith and yes, she fits the sign perfectly Scorpios are very much their own people, doing things the way they like however works best for them. They’re likely to choose an easy style that will compliment rather than draw away attention from their chosen outfit; lengthy layers or choppy bobs that act as supporting cast members rather than the main event.

Sagittarius – a style to suit all situations

Free-spirited, easy to talk to and loved by all, Sagittarians are the most likely sign to opt for a hair style that isn’t all it seems They’re super adaptable people (friends with the company CEO and the cleaner), so cuts like the lob, loose waves all to one length or the classic high pony work well; as they’re versatile and can suit all situations

Capricorn – quiet luxury

Capricorns always look great but are rarely showy about it: think Timothee Chalamet, Zoey Deschanel and Kate Middleton. Styles such as the old money bob suit Capricorns as they ooze effortless aesthetic and still look fantastic. There’ll be no asymmetric cuts or shouty colours here, just classic glam and an ‘old money’ feel

So

how do you feel – do you meet the brief for your astrology sign or are you daring to be different?

Thanks, but I own a mirror. I don’t need that kind of surface-level validation . Still, I was bored so I responded.

SEX SWINGS AND D**KHEADS.

I have a love-hate relationship with social media. It’s like that friend who’s hilarious and always down for a good time but also wildly inappropriate at the worst moments. On the good days, I love it. I get to see what my friends are up to, discover new music, share memes, and pretend I’m going to do all those workouts to tone my abs. On the bad days? I seriously question why I’m still here. Social media is essential for my business. It’s how I network, promote and stay visible. It’s also the easiest way to stay connected with my kids and keep up with their lives where ever they are. So quitting isn’t exactly an option but some days I wish it were. Take this weekend, for example. I don’t usually entertain men in my DMs. I’ve learned my lesson with too many weird encounters and far too many unsolicited comments. But I was a week into having my apartment all to myself, which rarely happens at this time of year. No plans, no distractions, just me and a lot of silence which I was enjoying. But when a really attractive guy slid into my DMs one evening, I figured, ok. Let’s chat. He led with the classic “Hey, beautiful” line, which honestly should have been my first red flag. Let’s be clear “Hey, beautiful” isn’t a compliment. It’s generic, impersonal, and tells me nothing about why you’re actually messaging me other than you saw a photo and thought you’d try your luck. amandalifestylepr

At first, it was surfacelevel stuff. Basic chitchat. He was Russian, allegedly working for the EU in Cyprus, divorced with a teenage son. So far so good. Money and good looks. But it escalated very quickly. And by escalated, I mean within minutes, this man sent me a picture of his sex swing and asked me if I liked it. I hadn't hint or drop any cues that I wanted that kind of conversation. And yet, there it was, swinging into my DMs like we were in the middle of some steamy saga I never signed up for. No context. No respect. Just straight-up digital creep behavior. Why do they do this? What is it about social media that makes some men feel so entitled to other people’s time, attention, and bodies? There was no warmth, no effort, just a blatant display of objectification. It’s like being catcalled, but worse because it happens in the space that’s supposed to feel like yours. I didn’t reply. Didn’t educate. Didn’t scold. I just blocked him. Because at this point, I’m not in the business of fixing grown men who think sending sex furniture is a flirty opener.

Anyone who knows me knows I am definitely not a prude and I wasn't shocked and there are things I would happily do with a partner I am sharing intimacy with. It takes more than a few leather straps to rattle me

But this is the double-edged sword of social media. I need it. I rely on it. But it also makes me feel exhausted, exposed, and, sometimes, completely done with it

he idea of putting myself out there.

Men don’t make any effort to see the real person anymore. It’s like they’re skipping the connection, the curiosity, the actual getting to know someone and going straight to the fantasy. Straight to the objectification. Like we’re just profiles to conquer. This kind of behavior isn’t isolated, every one of my friends will share a similar story It’s part of something bigger and more disturbing. There’s a whole undercurrent of misogyny online, and it’s growing louder. Incel culture, red pill ideology, and maledriven echo chambers are feeding this belief that women exist to be dominated, used, or put in their place. It’s not just ignorance, it’s hostility. And social media gives it a megaphone with no accountability for their behaviour.

And so, here I am. This is why I’m single and this why I don’t do dating apps.

And this is why I’ll probably live out the rest of my years choosing celibacy and cats. And honestly? I'm fine with that.
