Welcome to Mam'selle! A mini magazine for Sindy doll lovers, fans and collectors.

Dolls, can you believe this is our 4th birthday issue? Where has the time gone? Well, playing Sindy, of course. Over the last 49 - yes 49! issues we have shared your passion, creativity and love for the ‘doll you love to dress’, and we can’t wait to start the next year of Mam’selle doing pretty much the same.

JANUARY 2022 Finding the perfect cover for the January issue can be tricky. The January issue lands at the beginning of December, when everyone is in full-on Christmas party mode - yet January often means new beginnings. This beautiful shot by @sindydolls.etsy was the perfect balance, with a touch of festive tartan, yet with a fresh-faced wintertime feel to start off the new year.

JUNE 2022 Summer covers tend to be easier to pull together. This one instantly jumped off the feed of @jollydollyshop for me. I was of course instantly drawn to the beautiful retro pelican fabric, but the sheer beauty of this blonde Sindy and the first ‘Trendy’ on a cover sealed the deal.

DECEMBER 2022 For this issue I held our first ever cover competition. I was overwhelmed by the amazing entries and it was tough choosing a winner. I finally decided on this stunning entry, featuring the new Weekender Collectors Club Sindy by @the_woodlanddollies

MARCH 2023 I always loved seeing the beautiful family pictures by the late @pedigree.sindy pop up on my feed. When I saw this one I just knew it would make the most perfect cover for Mother’s Day or a family themed issue. I think I was right, don’t you?

MAY 2023 This was the second wedding themed May issue and I really wanted something a little different than the previous romantic one. When I saw this set of photographs by the wonderful @sindytude I knew I had found the perfect image. She was also the first Hasbro Sindy to appear on a cover.

‘Sindy’s butler greeted us warmly and showed us into her new mansion. After an exchange of pleasantries, where the butler furnished us with drinks, we got down to business. The photographer snapped away and I started with the questions.

Me: Would you say your life has changed since you became the cover girl of the renowned magazine Mam’selle in April?

Sindy: Oh I wouldn’t know, haha! Perhaps a tad.

Me: So have you always surrounded yourself with pearls, porcelain poodles and um... a man servant?

Sindy: Ah, no! A man servant? Oh, you mean Ken, haha! He was stray, we just picked him up and dusted him off. He can’t make proper tea for the life of him, but he has a darling smile don’t you think?

Me: Very. You featured in the Bridal Fashion Special, will you be modelling any other type of fashion?

Sindy: I don’t have anything scheduled.., Ken!! Put those back please. It’s our guest’s shoes... Noo, put it back.

Me: Heh, he like shoes?

Sindy: Loves them! Paul and I try to teach him not to, but it seems impossible. We find our shoes in his room all the time.

Me: Perhaps naughty spray? Or a class?

Sindy: No that’s alright. We love our Ken as is. Besides, he just collects them and who doesn't like to collect shoes?

OCTOBER 2023 I’m always searching for something a little different to keep Mam’selle fresh and inspiring. I adore @anya_sasha images and this side profile Sindy shot made a great autumnal cover - with plenty of space on the right for coverlines.

NOVEMBER 2023 Sindy collector @poisonedjello captures the most beautiful, natural looking poses. This one caught my eye - the autumn tones, the pose and that sweet face. All the markers of a perfect cover.

JANUARY 2024 As soon as I saw this image on the feed of @sindy_doll_collector I had it earmarked for the New Year issue. I love the colour of this coat and, with the hood up, it just looks so cosy.

FEBRUARY 2024 February would traditionally be a Valentine’s or love themed issue. But once I saw this picture by @sewist53 I planned a family special around it. It was also this image that convinced me to purchase one of these adorable pups from Etsy.

MARCH 2025 Mam’selle has always been a collaborative project for me. I always try to find the right balance of the ‘perfect cover girl (or girls)’ and using images from Sindy friends that have supported me from day one.

TLSM turns five How it all started It all started in the 70s when I, as a kid, got an active Sindy Ballerina. I loved her and every

year,

on

my

birthday

and

at

Christmas, I wished for things I'd seen in the Pedigree Sindy brochure I had. The things I didn't get, I tried to make myself.

Born in a family with a mum who sewed a lot of our clothes and a dad who made things, in his spare time, out of wood, it was easy to find materials and start to create. I was lucky to have a great friend just on the other side of our street, Cici, and we played with Sindy a lot during these years.

My slogan is “Help keep the history of Sindy alive!”

When I became a teenager, I carefully stored away my treasures to give to my perhaps future kids. Wherever I moved Sindy followed in her big box, until the day I felt my actual two kids were big enough to play with Sindy. I told them about my happy years with Sindy and opened the box. To my surprise, I didn't hear any happy cheers or see any huge smiles on my kids’ faces. I was the only one cheering. They said: "That old stuff?! No thanks! We want Monster High dolls!" I couldn't believe my ears! But what to do. I put the box in their playroom and said sadly: "You might find something fun for Monster High in here though, if you go through it..."

When they had grown out of the playroom and wanted a gaming room, I sold all their dolls and toys they didn't want to keep.

Even my Sindy treasure, since I'd only kept the box for my future kids. At least I thought so. But, I felt a bit empty inside.

Luckily, I met Annika @barbieblackwidow and she led me in to the magic world of doll collecting in 2018.

Sadly, my new economy didn’t manage to rent a place especially for TLSM, so I had to have the museum in my private living area.

I’m very proud that Mam’selle did a special issue about the ten dolls, and later even an update in the magazine about the dolls in their new homes. In 2023/24 I decided to create a "Hasbro Corner" at TLSM. I got great help from my dear friend and other half of Sindytectives – Beatrice – with planning, painting and putting up shelves.

In 2025 I started to make a stronger construction and design of TLSM’s limbs and started to print the prototypes. I wanted to make a limited edition of TLSM Save a Sindy Y5, for the celebration of TLSM’s 5th anniversary.

In 2023/24 I decided to create a "Hasbro Corner" at TLSM

But sadly, I realised that the only material I could 3D print them in – UV resin – is still very brittle. Even when using the tough and flexible resin for printing, it can still break if dropped on the floor. So, with a very sad heart I decided to postpone this project until I can find a material that works for a play line of arms and legs for Sindy. If anyone has a tip of material to use, or if you know of some place that 3D prints to order, please let me know.

TLSM in the future What is next for The Little Sindy Museum?

My new life up here is great, but I still don’t know with certainty how I will support myself and TLSM financially. Hopefully I’ll get more clarity on that later this year or next year. But whatever happens I will continue working on TLSM’s website and the museum, which is my priority! The next step for the museum is to make a special area for Vivid Sindy and the rest of the early millennium Sindy dolls I have waiting in my office. TLSM’s social media might be updated now and then, but sadly the time I have for TLSM is limited. I hope the lovely people in the Sindy community will let me know if they have something they want to share on TLSM’s website, like events,

information,
