Sincerely,

Dear Members,

As we wind down the Summer it has been satisfying to see how great Member participation has been at so many events over the season Whether it was the Rhawn/Spencer Cup, Friday nights at the Pavilion, swim team participation, pickleball play, or Junior Squash, most main events planned by our Entertainment Committee or Rackets Team were spectacular

Personally, my favorite time of year at the Club is the Fall

It is a great time of year for all of the Club’s racket sports and to roll a game of Bocce If you are still fairly new to the Club and have not tried either pickle, platform tennis, or squash, the Fall is a great time to experience a new sport or all three Do not feel intimidated by starting something new, because between Travis, Kelly-Marie, and Lee, there is not a better collection of pros to get you started or sharpen your game There will be many organized events this fall and winter in these sports, so you do not want to miss out! Remember you do not have to own a boat to enjoy our docks Great place to enjoy some food or beverage and watch the sunset Keep an eye out for more Club events on the docks this Fall

The LBC does parties very well Whether you want to celebrate a family occasion, work-related gathering or just get your friends together, I hope you consider the many venues available at the Club, not just the Ballroom I’ve seen very quaint gatherings on the tennis “porch” upstairs, the pool pavilion, or the front lawn If it’s a “sporty” gathering, I’ve seen some great pickleball parties on the back courts, or consider this fall/winter combining paddle/pickle/tennis with the bocce courts as a central area The LBC staff will work with you to set up and have other great ideas

While the Club is scheduled to close the pool after the Labor Day weekend, we are working on keeping the pool open for as many September weekends as possible It is always a question of guard availability

Enjoy your Labor Day weekend,

From the General Manager THE ANCHOR | LOUISVILLE BOAT CLUB PAGE 02
