SEPTEMBER 2022

THE BULLETIN Official Newsletter of the Louisville Boat Club

From the General Manager Dear Members and Friends: We have had a great summer with some awesome events culminating with the Luau on the River, featuring Tony and the Tan Lines, if you did not come you missed the party of the year,,,,,,,,,,,,so far. We are looking at some more great events coming up, including The Cardboard Boat Regatta, Dad’s and Kid’s Campout with Ranger Stockie, and Ranger Bart!! Then concluding the Pool Season on September 25th (this is a day/date change) we will have the everpopular “Doggie Day at the Pool.” So be sure to check your email for all upcoming events. In October we will have the Halloween/Fall Festival and Hayride, the 2nd Bocce, Brews, and Burgers and In November/December the traditional Holiday Parties. PARDON OUR MESS, BAR REFURBISHING UPDATE: Work has already begun on this. The trim has been finished and we have started work on the painting and wallpaper portion this week. This should take about 30 days, followed by the carpet approximately 30 days later. The chairs will take longer due to the supply chain, at this time we do not have a date for their delivery but, will keep you updated. The bar will be partially operational during all this except for the first couple of weeks. The Cru Society Wine Dinner continues to grow, several years ago we started with a modest 20 people attending and now we sell out with 50 to 60 attendees. Additionally, those attendees are purchasing the wines that they have enjoyed during the dinner, at less than retail pricing. These wines are also available to all Members, just call George and he will take care of you. As previously noted, we have had another strong Membership year, but we still would like to add to our roster. Please remember it is a right and privilege to refer your friends and business associates to Membership at your Club. We can only grow through Members' referrals. We are considering a Winter Membership Drive beginning in October, so please watch for more information during this coming month. Remember that we do have golf privileges at Owl Creek CC and fall is the best golf weather. Fitness has some new offerings and events coming up: The first Annual LBC Triathlon and also a 12-week Wellness and Transformation Class. Please refer to the flyers that have been sent out for all the information. Connie Bates, our Housekeeping Manager, is celebrating 20 years at LBC this week. When you see her please tell her congratulations and thank you for your dedication to OUR Club. I want to thank my “Co-workers/Team Members, The Board, and Committee members for their hard work and dedication to the Club. As always, we, the Team appreciate your constructive comments which help us improve your “Membership Experience.” David Drury CCM CCE
