A Note From the General Manager Dear Members: It is officially Fall and with that we have football and, of course, HALLOWEEN! We are getting ready for an evening of great fun and games. Also, the Annual Dad’s and Kid’z Campout is always great fun.

Don’t forget “Doggie Day at the Pool” on Sunday October 3 from 2.00 to 4.00pm. We will have the Pavilion Bar open for adult libations while your “Fur Baby” has fun with their friends!

Please remember to check your e-mails and read this newsletter for all the upcoming adult and family events planned over the next few months.

Lunch service is back in the Clubhouse Tuesday through Saturday since the Snack Bar and Pavilion are officially closed except for any Special Events. The new Dinner menu has also been well received and Chef Michael is planning on adding some favorites and new items as the seasons change. We are still trying to find service personnel who will fit our needs and we appreciate your patience during the search. I know I have said this before, but everybody is in the same boat! Finding qualified and trainable people is still hard.

Outdoor tennis is winding down, slowly, and Indoor Season is about to begin, as is Platform Tennis. The new Squash Season is also beginning, and Lee will be adding some new programs. Fitness ramps up as the weather changes and we are planning some new additions to the line-up. Pickleball will continue, as long as the weather permits!

For the new Members who are not familiar; the Pro’s all offer a complimentary lesson and evaluation to help get you started in the right direction, even if you are a beginner or just want to try the sport.

As always, the Staff and I appreciate your support and all constructive comments that will make YOUR club better and more enjoyable.

Tennis Update Summer Interclub season wrapped up last month and oh boy was it an amazing time to be a part of LBC! Not only did we have the MOST participation in the HISTORY of the club but also some very impressive results!! Our ladies teams were nothing but spectacular not only on the court but also off. I heard from multiple pros and opposing club members of how much fun ALL of our LBC Ladies seem to have fun no matter winning or coming in second place. So hats off to you ladies for pioneering the way for our tennis programs, practices, and league play to grow in the coming future!

Our LBC Ladies Interclub results are as follows: Ladies A – Captain Wendy Menzel - Co-Captain Trish Murphy – 2nd Place Ladies B – Captain Amy Scheinler – Co-Captain Lisa Singerman – 2nd Place Ladies C – Captain Lashae Higdon – Co-Captain Dawn Courtenay – 6th Place

Our Interclub team captains are the true heroes of our success.

Managing schedules, personalities, and coordinating food and drink for EVERYONE playing… all while still working and being parents!!! Thank you Ladies for ALL of your hard work!!!

Our Men’s teams have regained the reigns of Champions in my book. We had an amazing turnout for our Tuesday night Men’s interclub. With Men’s A having the majority of the participants being LBC members and our fresh new team of Men’s C who had a blast meeting new members and learning from some veterans of the club. Then we had our Thursday night Men’s B teams that created so much atmosphere it was electrifying!!

LUNCH IS BACK! ENJOY LUNCH AT THE CLUB WITH FRIENDS OR FAMILY. WE ARE ALSO FULLY TECH READY FOR YOUR "WORK FROM THE CLUB" NEEDS.

Our Men’s Interclub teams ranked as follows: Men’s A – Captain Tim Gornet – 1st Place Captain Kenny Marcum – 2nd Place Captain David English – 3rd Place Men’s B – Captain Jim Buchheit Co-Captain Ed Farmer – 1st Place Captain Chris Feger Co-Captain Tim Feger – 2nd Place Captain Mark McCoy – 3rd Place Men’s C- Captain Christian Juckett – 5th Place

Men’s A had nothing but the best time changing up their format to include more members than ever before. Men’s B finals was a showdown of 2 LBC teams that ended in with the Green Team establishing dominance over the entire field of teams. Not only did they win the Championship, but they were also in 1st place after regular season play!

Please congratulate them when you see them at the club! Men’s C was led by the courageous Christian Juckett who took the responsibility of being captain for the season. This guy was on top of it every single week and can't thank him enough!!!

Let's Play Pickleball!

This sport is off to such a strong start. So many new members, new faces, and clubhouse members coming out to enjoy the amazing facility that we have to offer. We are also coordinating a local pickleball interclub league that we hope to offer to all levels for next season. We had 24 players compete for the first time on 6 courts here at LBC!!! Pickleball is here to stay and I for one couldn’t be more pumped. Please join us for our First Annual Pickleball Tournament hosted here on Oct. 2nd. Contact the Pro Shop to sign up at 502.896.0424.

Platform Tennis is Back Paddle programming is set to kick off in the middle of October.

We will be offering again the chance to play in the Louisville Paddle Interclub Ladder League. If you have never tried it, come give it a try since we tripled our participation last year and I am hoping for an even bigger increase this year! Reach out or swing by the Pro Shop for more information.
