THE ANCHOR Official Newsletter of the Louisville Boat Club

From the General Manager Dear Members and Friends: Halloween and Fall are behind us, Football Season is in full swing and what comes next………. T’is the Holiday Season!!! The most joyous and busy time of the year. Please remember that George Henry is here to help you plan your Holiday Parties for both family and business. As we all know; Membership is the lifeblood of the Club and we ask that you consider the Heritage Legacy Program. Since the Club’s humble beginnings, generations of Members have found our Club to be a cherished part of their family heritage. Please continue this tradition by proposing your family members preserve to and strengthen our Membership. What better way to foster and preserve our familial relationships than having family members experience the benefits of Membership? Members’ grandparents, parents, children, siblings, and grandchildren may join the Club at a substantially reduced initiation fee. What better holiday gift could you give than the “gift of Membership” at LBC? Please call me for information and I will be happy to walk you through the process. Also, did you remember that as a thank you to Members for taking the time to introduce their family, friends, and business associates to Membership we offer a Food and Beverage credit equal to 10% of the initiation fee when that person joins LBC? Clubhouse Members: Did you know that you can now attend Fitness Classes with a minimal fee? Just sign in and check the appropriate box on the sheet. We will take care of the rest. The Crow’s Nest project is still only partially complete, but the comments so far are all very positive. The artwork should be up soon and the brass foot rail will be installed as it has been refurbished. Now we wait for the furniture, hopefully before Christmas, but it will be worth the wait, of that, you can be sure. The Nominating Committee has put together a great slate for the Officers and Directors for 2022/23 which we will be posting and sending out to the Membership soon. Please remember that the Annual Meeting is on November 30 at 7:00pm. Indoor Tennis, Squash, Paddle, and Pickleball are in full swing. We have begun the takedown of the outdoor courts but we still have a few weeks of play possible. I would be remiss if I did not congratulate Lee Scott, our Director of Squash on two very entertaining Professional Tournaments that he has run in the last two months. The spectators were enthralled by the quality of play by some world-ranked players. Read the newsletter and watch for the “Weekly Bulletins” to keep up with all the upcoming events during the next two months of the Holiday Season. The Weekly Bulletins have been established to cut down on the number of e-mails that the Club sends out so that you get the next 10 days of events at one time. Additionally, if you have not “opted in” for text messages and push notifications please do so. It is the best way to receive information. As always, the Management Team and Club personnel are here to take care of you, your family, and your friends. We take great pride in that responsibility. We also appreciate your constructive comments and suggestions, because through those, we are able to improve your Member experience. David Drury CCM CCE
