THE BULLETIN Official Newsletter of the Louisville Boat Club

From the Crow's Nest

2021 Board of Directors

First, allow me to introduce our new Director of Food and Beverage, Mr. John Taylor. John brings a wealth of experience in both private clubs and restaurants. I worked with John at LCC previously and he was my top choice for this position. Luckily, the timing worked out and he starts this week. Second, prospective members are applying in record numbers and we’re just getting started. Thank you to all the LBC members who are out there recruiting. Nothing is more important to the Club than an active, happy membership. Please reach out to me personally with any questions about our current membership program or if you need assistance closing the deal. I’m here to help! The calendar for May is chocked full of activities including the return of our Dinner-And-A-Movie nights on the 15th, our annual New Member Welcome and Friday Nights Live Party on the 21st (with David Bryant entertaining), Adult Trivia Night on May 27th and the four days of family fun over Memorial weekend, starting May 28th through the 31st. Related to that, by now you’ve received the happy news that the Governor has relaxed the requirement to wear a mask when outdoors. That means no more muffled voices and plenty of visible smiles as we move about outdoors. Speaking of outdoors, shovels and backhoes are hard at work (and nearly finished) with the excavation of our new bocce complex and the Legacy Walk back to our new pickle complex. I’m sure it’s been noisy, disruptive, and annoying for everyone but do bear with us. To that end, we are busy so please remember to cancel any reservation you make for an event. Last minute changes are an unavoidable part of life so let us know if that happens to you so we can fill your seat with someone on the waiting list (well, not literally a waiting list but we’re getting there –all our indoor events have been totally sold out). So, enjoy your new digital newsletter. Send in your request for an inscribed brick or come by for dinner or just look forward to the many events we have planned to get our summer off to an enthusiastic start. Lon Callis, CCM General Manager
