JULY 2022

THE BULLETIN Official Newsletter of the Louisville Boat Club

From the General Manager

2022 Board of Directors Doug Keeney – President

Dear Members and Friends:

Henry Kelsey – Vice President &

Wow, time does fly when you are having fun! We are running at full throttle everywhere and there’s more to come. The Typhoons are in the water and kicking up a storm. Tennis and Pickle are in full swing and even Squash which is more of a Fall/Winter/Spring sport is going gangbusters. To the point that Lee has added a “Tots Program” for the 3 to 7 age group!!! Aaah, the future looks good! And Bocce is rolling along too. Friday Night Live is off to a good start and the Pavilion and Snack Bar are overflowing with happy Members. It seems that the extra service personnel have made a difference. Don’t forget that if you need something extra at the Pool/Pavilion just ask Nathan, our Pool Manager, he is there to take care of all your needs and he does it with a smile!! Want something more than Snack Bar food for dinner? Did you know that you can order “To Go” from the Dinner Menu? Just call the bar, place your order and pick it up from the Dining Room. George, Chef Omar, Lindsay, and the whole Food and Beverage Team are really working hard to make your dining experiences the best possible. Have you noticed the “new look” in the Pro Shop? You need to thank both Jennifer 1 and Jennifer 2! If you see Kenny, Eddie, and Eric around the grounds, please thank them for their hard work. The heat is brutal and they are outside all day working on the grounds or the docks!! The bank area at the docks has been cleaned up, several dead trees were taken out and we are repairing some of the docks and will be adding some new lights. The “new view” from the clubhouse is amazing! By the time you read this, we will have the new shade structures at the pool installed. July 4th Weekend is upon us and we have some fun things planned. Then July 8 is the ever-popular Low Country Boil down on the docks with entertainment. Then the following month is the Family Olympics which will be a blast. On August 19 we will again have Tony and the Tan Lines down on the docks. Another privilege of Membership to remember: We have golf privileges at Owl Creek, just call their Pro Shop to book a tee time and enjoy the reciprocity. Membership has been great, so far, this fiscal year with 33 new Members joining our ranks. So, if you have friends or business associates who you believe would be a good addition to our roster, please send me their contact information. I want to thank all my “Co-workers/Team Members, The Board, and Committee Members for their hard work and dedication to the Club and say categorically that “I could not do my job without you!” As always, we, the Team appreciate your constructive comments which help us improve the “Membership Experience.”
