The Team and I would like to wish every one of you a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
As we reflect on what was, in 2022, we can say that we had a great year financially and that we were able to grow the Club and what the Club offers you, our Members. Looking to 2023, we believe that we will grow into a better and more vibrant Club with better offerings whereby the Membership will be using the Club facilities even more
Tennis, Pickle, and Paddle will have a new Pro at the helm, as we welcome Travis Curren to the Team. If you have read his bio and his accomplishments you should feel positive about what he will bring to the table Squash has grown so much in the last year and Lee Scott, with the help of Zephan, has done a masterful job in growing the Junior program and bringing in the incredibly entertaining Professional Tournaments which will continue in the coming year The Fitness facility usage is up, as well, and Greg Treitz, as the Committee Chair, has added some “fun events” to further push participants to use our great facility Then we look at the swim program, which is awesome, and one of the main reasons that young families join LBC We will be hosting City Swim Meet in July, which is a big undertaking, but there is an excellent Committee in place with much of the “planning” already complete.
Of course, the Entertainment Committee has the first 6 months of 2023 planned out; with the annual events and the new offerings, we have a full calendar already
As always Membership growth is most important to the lifeblood of any Club Bring your friends and business associates into your circle at the Club! We offer a Food and Beverage credit equal to 10% of the Initiation Fee paid by your invitee as a thank you for sponsoring them. But bring them in before April 1st as the Initiation Fees will be raised from the current $5000 to $7500.We also have a Legacy Membership for your immediate family members (children, grandchildren, parents, grandparents, brothers, and sisters) which is a way to perpetuate your family’s heritage in the Club Legacy Members only have to pay 50% of the published Initiation Fee and regularly posted dues and fees
I would be remiss if I did not thank the Members for their generous donations to the Employee Holiday Fund You helped make the Holiday better for the LBC Team Members The Management Team and I thank you, the Members, for your constructive comments, because through these we continue to give you a better Member experience.
The future looks great, and I am personally very grateful to be part of your Club again in 2023. I welcome our new President, Tommy Campbell, and the new Board of Directors and look forward to working with you. Together we will do great things!
Sincerely, David Drury CCM CCE
The Squash House was full of energy with back-to-back weekends of high school and middle school matches We had teams from Collegiate, Trinity, Manual, Saint X, and Sacred Heart battling it out on the squash courts There were some tight and intense games, but Collegiate won the overall matches There will be more school matches in the New Year as the juniors prepare for Nationals in late January and February.

As a reminder, please make sure that you register your guests and also check in with the Pro Shop prior to going on the courts.
The Tennis Rules specifically state that Members are required to check in at the Pro Shop and to register their guests prior to play. The same goes for Pickleball, Paddle, and Squash Recently this has not been happening and we request that Members adhere to the rules that were adopted by the Board of Directors several years ago.
Going forward we will, in accordance with these rules, levy a $35 fine to those who do not abide by the rules
One of our Zenith Academy squash players, Jacob Grissom, has been recruited to play squash at Amherst College next summer. This is fantastic news for the squash program at LBC!
