From the General Manager
Dear Members and Friends:
‘Tis the Season The decorations are up, the logs are burning in the fireplace, and the Yuletide libations are beginning to flow!! Do not forget to make your reservations for the Holiday Club Events:
Sunday, December 4: Gingerbread House Decorating Sunday, December 11: Santa’s Family Brunch Saturday, December 31: New Year’s Eve Early Dinner
It’s been a great 2022 for LBC: Our financials for the fiscal year were great, Membership remains strong, we have a great staff, and 2023 looks great through the first two months of the fiscal year
In my November article, I emphasized the importance of the referral of prospective Members to the Club because it is through your referrals that we can continue to grow the Membership The Legacy Program is a great way to foster and preserve the generational Memberships in the Club by sponsoring children, parents, grandparents, and siblings Please contact me for further information about this exceptional offering And, do not forget that as a Sponsor of a new Member we will give you a Food Credit equal to 10% of the Initiation Fee as a thank you
By the time you read this, we will have a new Board seated; I congratulate those who have been elected to the Board and look forward to working with you in 2023 I would be remiss if I did not thank the current Officers and Directors for their hard work, support, and trust during these past 12 months working for the betterment of the Club.
As we move into the Holiday Season we should remember the real reason for the Holiday Celebration, to remember those who are far away and those who are no longer with us The Management Team, the Staff, and I wish you a very Happy Holiday Season and a Prosperous New Year And for the Club, another profitable one!

Browne Cup
On November 11th, a Louisville team of 14 members from the Boat Club and Pendennis traveled to St Louis for the annual Browne Cup A smaller team than years past, team Louisville descended on St Louis leaving behind a more lasting mark on the city and its locals than on the court Regardless, the singles and doubles courts were buzzing at the St Louis Racquet Club (whose members famously helped fund Lindbergh's solo transatlantic flight on the Spirit of St Louis) with many members playing upwards of 4 5 matches over the two days The tournament was our new Assistant Squash Pro Zephan Huang's first traveling tournament and first time playing competitive doubles, earning him the coveted award of "Kentucky's Finest."
Jay won both his doubles matches and his singles match. I also managed to win both my doubles matches and my singles match
This helped team USA to win the competition
