Storage Shed, Play House And Pet Houses Storage Shed, Play House and Pet House Policy: Storage sheds and play houses are permitted. No electrical or water can be ran to the storage shed or play house. Due to the need for emergency access, placement and location will not be blocked by windows or doors from the home. For your safety and the safety of others, you shall not store any goods or materials of any kind or description in any storage space that are combustible or would increase the risk of fire or damage to the premises. • •
You will be responsible, at your cost and expense for providing an appropriate lock. Any item stored by you in any storage space or play house will be stored at your own risk and neither owner nor Lewis McChord Communities shall be responsible for any loss or damage due to fire, theft, water, or otherwise.
Storage Shed Requirements: • You may install a storage shed behind your residence with permission from your District Office. • You will be required to submit a Storage Shed Request Form with a drawing showing the exact location of the proposed shed. • Approval from Lewis McChord Communities will be based on the following specification: ► 8’X1 O’ or smaller steel building, beige in color. ► 8’X1 O’ or smaller Rubbermaid shed beige in color. • If you would like to build one yourself please follow the guidelines below: ► 8’X1 O’ or smaller, 8 feet to pitch of roof, made from one of the following methods. ► A wood storage kit ► Build with decay resistant wood, natural in color with clear stain, no painting allowed. ► Latt siding of MDF/T111 siding ► Roof-composite, corrugated metal or fiberglass Play House Requirements: • Play house requirements for all properties: ► Maximum size allowed is 8’X6’, 6 feet to pitch of roof. ► Decay resistant siding, wood colored with clear sealant. ► Painting is allowed only with prior written approval from your District Office. ► Latt siding or MDF/T11 siding. ► Roof-composite, corrugated metal or fiberglass. Pet House Requirements: • You may build pet houses on the premises only with your District Office’s prior approval. All construction and mainte- nance of pet houses are at your own expense. A request in writing with a drawing showing location, size, type of materi- als, and method of construction must be submitted to manager for approval prior to construction and/or installation of any pet house. • Approval from manager will be based on the following specifications: ► Size shall not exceed 8 sq. ft. of floor space with a maximum height of 3’ above ground, unless special approval is obtained. ► Construction shall consist of good quality lumber, metal or composition material and be fabricated in good workmanlike manner. All roofs shall have adequate slop. Use of shipping boxes, crates, etc. will not be permitted. ► The exterior finish shall consist of a neatly applied paint or siding of a color compatible with the adjacent structures. • Pet houses shall be located in an isolated area at the rear of your residence and an adequate distance from neighboring yards. Pet houses will be required to relocate at manager’s discretion. • Use of tarps and other temporary materials for weather protection is prohibited. • You are responsible for the repair, and/or replacement of any damaged lawns, shrubs, etc. caused by your pet. • Storage units, carports, or garages are not considered acceptable housing for your pet.
