More connected with SharePoint

Computer-using GWK employees are probably familiar with SharePoint by now. We’ve been using this platform for all internal communication since July 2022. But are you aware of all the possibilities and opportunities offered by SharePoint?

GWK IT teamed up with GWK Marketing and Communication to create a layout that makes it easy and intuitive to navigate anywhere on the platform. It combines all the elements of the GWK intranet, communication emails and a diary all into one, which means whatever information you need is only a click away. This includes previous communications, all GWK documents and policies, the current corporate clothing range, company and business news, publications and company videos. Upcoming events and colleagues’ birthdays are also available on the homepage. But, apart from easy access to information, SharePoint is also an interactive collaboration platform. This is where teams can come together, share progress and track projects. Especially with remote working that became increasingly popular, this platform adds a whole new level of connectivity.

Functionalities include:

• Business can collaborate on projects with the option of using access control

• Team members can share documents to work together on the same document, while a history of that document’s versions is saved

• Planning can be done and workflow can improve

• All businesses now have a central platform where all team members can have access to important information

• Businesses can share photos, videos and other news so that we can all get to know each other (and our businesses) a whole lot better!

Certain restrictions, or admissions, can be placed on specific pages and documents to allow access to specific individuals, for instance only members of a certain team.

Even though the development process is already at quite an advanced point, continuous improvements will be made to SharePoint, and for this we need your help. If you encounter any glitches or difficulties, please let ServiceDesk know immediately. We’d also like your input on how to further improve the platform to ensure that it works for you.

There are a few exciting developments on their way to add a fun, interactive side to SharePoint, so keep an eye out. We like to work smarter, and make it fun.
