FOUNDER’S NOTE WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING? THIS WEEK’S SPOTLIGHT
OUR NEXT UNIT COMING UP WEEKLY BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS
The homeschool lifestyle is a journey filled with dreams, aspirations, and, yes, moments of doubt and defeat. But it's also a journey of resilience, growth, and ultimately, triumph.
I found myself trapped in a cycle of starting projects with fervor, only to abandon them midway through Perhaps you can relate The businesses, the blogs, the DIY home décor, and yes, the homeschool units all left unfinished, gathering dust in the graveyard of "Things Amber Gave Up On." It was a painful realization, one that left me feeling defeated and questioning my own abilities.
But through introspection and self-reflection, I uncovered the harsh truth behind my actions I realized that perfectionism was my silent saboteur, causing me to hyper-focus on the smallest imperfections and ultimately paralyzing me with fear of failure. I had allowed negative self-talk to dictate my narrative, convincing myself that "I never finish anything I start" What a cruel lie to tell oneself!
So, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, asking myself the tough questions and confronting my deepest insecurities head-on. Why did I abandon these projects? Was it fear of failure? External criticism? Unrealistic expectations? The answers weren't easy to swallow, but they were necessary for growth
I learned to reframe "failure" as " an experiment" an opportunity to learn, grow, and evolve. Like a scientist in the lab, I examined what went wrong and used that knowledge to refine my approach. And slowly but surely, I began to rewrite the narrative in my head
With love and solidarity,
Last Friday, we were excited to host the March Madness party at Leading Little Arrows. While many kids are enjoying their spring break, us homeschoolers decided to celebrate with a party of our own
Although tutorial didn't meet this week due to the break, we just couldn’t wait another week to see each other and extended an invitation for everyone to join us for a March Madness party with a touch of St Patrick's Day festivities
The children had a blast playing Minute to Win It games and competing in basketball trivia The ultimate prize was a March Madness Leprechaun trophy which one lucky team won with their skills and determination
Craft stations were set up for the kids to get creative, and we all enjoyed pizza and cupcakes together Of course, the kids started a dance party, with our fantastic DJ July keeping the energy high
As the party came to a close, we took pictures and looked for the last gifts and trinkets to take home as souvenirs of the fun-filled event It was another memorable experience for our whole Tribe at Leading Little Arrows.
Looking ahead, we are excited to kick off a new unit on dinosaurs on next tutorial Paleontology is an exciting subject that appeals to learners of all ages, and we can't wait to delve deeper into the world of dinosaurs with our learners
This week, we are excited to shine a spotlight on our incredible event coordinator, Ms Ashton! Ms Ashton has a talent for bringing the party to any event she organizes. On Friday, she put together our March Madness party, and it was a blast for the whole Tribe! Apart from event planning, Ms. Ashton is also an aspiring author and can surprise you with her karaoke skills on a mom ’ s night out! Thank you so much Ms Ashton for everything you do for LLA!
