Kurtis has over 23 years of progressive leadership experience in sales and marketing. Kurtis was born in Edmonton, Alberta, grew up in the Toronto area, and was a graduate of the University of Western Ontario. Kurtis is proud to see his adult daughters now growing in their own career and personal development journey. Kurtis has spent the majority of his career in consumer packaged goods (CPG) working for Fortune 500 organizations. Kurtis has led projects and teams across Canada and internationally in Europe and Southeast Asia. As a seasoned sales and marketing executive Kurtis has gained a wealth of experience in leading and developing teams. Kurtis is always on the lookout for new ways to expand his leadership skills, and this passion project is one of the latest ways for him to give back and grow at the same time.

He was born in Saint John, NB, and a graduate of the University of New Brunswick. Curtis is a relationship-driven leader who has over 20 years of experience across many industries. His curiosity and need for continuous improvement have led him all over the globe. He has worked on unique projects in every major city in Canada and over 30 countries globally, building iconic brands, and partnering with some of the world’s largest suppliers. He is passionate about the “why” and since moving back to Atlantic Canada from Toronto in 2015 he is dedicated to the growth and sustainability of the Atlantic Region.

Introducing Tellor, the Problem Monster that appears when someone is promoted to a leadership position but fails to lead effectively, only focusing on managing and telling their team members what to do. These leaders may not feel equipped or prepared to lead, lack confidence in empowering their team, lack effective team building skills, or may simply be the wrong choice for leading a team. This kind of leadership hinders growth, stifles creativity, and fosters groupthink, leading to a decline in organizational performance.

Meet the Follower Problem Monster, that arises when leaders lack confidence in their own ideas and instead rely solely on others, stifling creativity and diverse thinking. This can occur due to a fear of failure, pressure to conform, lack of skills or experience, or an autocratic organizational culture.

Distraktor

But why does Impostor appear? There are typically 6 main reasons, such as fear of failure, low self-confidence, and comparing oneself to others.

Dividor

Dividor is a Problem Monster that arises in siloed teams, where individuals and groups act out of self-interest and keep secrets to gain a competitive advantage. Its root causes can include poor communication of priorities, a culture of unhealthy competition, and a lack of alignment among leadership.

Blockor

Blockor is the Problem Monster that appears when a leader hinders their team's growth and development within the organization, creating a frustrating and demotivating environment. This monster may arise due to a lack of trust, fear of failure, desire for control, lack of understanding, or personal biases.

Indecidor is the Problem Monster that appears when a leader struggles to make decisions, often causing delays and frustration for their team. Typically, there are 5 main reasons for this, including a lack of information, fear of failure, perfectionism, lack of confidence, and overthinking.

Limelightor

LimeLightor is a Problem Monster who always seeks attention and validation from others. Their charismatic and likeable personality can be an asset, but it can also hinder their professional growth if they are not perceived as serious. This behavior may stem from a fear of being overlooked or forgotten, a need for validation, or compensating for other areas where they feel inadequate or lack confidence.

Confusor

Confusor is a Problem Monster caused by poor communication and lack of direction from leadership, leading to confusion and chaos within the organization. It appears due to 5 main reasons: poor communication, lack of focused communication, inadequate frequency of communication, poor communication skills among leaders, and lack of transparency in decision-making.

OverPromisor is a Problem Monster that arises when leaders make promises they can't keep, leading to disappointment and mistrust within teams and stakeholders. This can happen when leaders want to please others, lack a full understanding of the requirements, feel pressure to meet targets, or overestimate their abilities or those of their team.

ProKrastinator

Prokrastinator is the Problem Monster that emerges when important tasks or decisions are delayed or postponed, causing stress, anxiety, and missed opportunities. It appears due to a fear of failure, uncertainty, lack of motivation, or the desire for perfection.
