“At 4-months old, our beautiful daughter, Gianna, had a grand mal seizure. At one-year-old, Gianna was diagnosed with a severe form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. Our beautiful baby girl was having over 1,000 seizures a day -- her prognosis was terminal. The Local 1014 Health Trust and their staff were there for us as we continued our mission to determine the root cause of Gianna’s illness. Finally, at 2-years old, after seeing dozens of doctors, we were able to nd a specialist who diagnosed Gianna’s underlying medical condition. We appealed to the 1014 Health Trust Board to get her a series of specialized treatments. Within several treatments, our daughter, who up until this moment never interacted with us, was now able to recognize us and respond to our voices for the rst time. Today Gianna is 15-years old and off all but one seizure medication. We often think about how it would have been if we did not have the Local 1014 Health Plan. Without the support of 1014, she would not be where she is today. ”

Do you need a crown, root canal, or llings? The Local 1014 Health Plan has made it easier to get your dental expenses reimbursed. This bene t is available regardless of the underlying dental plan in which you are enrolled. Receive up to $1,500 in excess dental care each year and receive a separate lifetime $2,500 allowance for dental implants.
CHIROPRACTIC/ACUPUNCTURE/ OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Have a bad back or knee pain? The Local 1014 Health Plan has doubled the amount of chiropractic, acupuncture and occupational therapy visits allowed each year. You can now have 30 chiropractic and 30 acupuncture visits each year for a total of 60 visits per year. That’s more than one per week. We have also doubled our occupational therapy visits allowed to 12 visits per year.
