Depuis plus de quinze ans, Kronometry 1999 travaille sans relâche pour vous proposer des garde-temps hors normes et s’attache à vous les présenter sous leur plus bel angle. Cela implique des heures et des heures de prises de vue en studio. Ce numéro 76 ne déroge pas à la règle puisque plus de la moitié des photos présentées sont réalisées « in house ». Lorsque vous découvrirez ces garde-temps, vous comprendrez qu’il ne pouvait pas en être autrement. Ils méritaient bien autant d’attention. Que ce soit l’incroyable Imperial Blue chez Ulysse Nardin, les deux tourbillons réalisés en exclusivité pour Kronometry 1999 par Romain Jerome ou la nouvelle collection Vanguard de Franck Muller, tous méritaient d’être présentés avec autant de soin. Les nouveautés Bovet sont également revisitées par notre photographe, tout comme le spectaculaire Recital 16. DeWitt nous fait perdre tous nos repères avec l’exceptionnelle Mathematical tandis que Moser redessine ses lignes avec la collection Venturer. L’actualité est très chargée elle aussi : avec Hublot qui pousse les murs dans notre boutique de Londres et un programme d’expositions horlogères de grandes Maisons qui s’enchaîneront entre Paris et le Sud de la France. Enfin, je profite de ce numéro pour remercier très chaleureusement un passionné d’horlogerie, de course automobile et aussi du travail de Kronometry 1999. Découvrez page 31 un étonnant hommage à Kronometry 1999. En tant que fondateur, j’ai été très touché par un tel geste alors à mon tour de lui rendre hommage et de célébrer une belle victoire ce jour-là.

For more than 15 years, Kronometry 1999 has worked tirelessly to propose extraordinary timepieces and present them in the most effective manner. Which requires many long hours of shooting in the studio. Issue N° 76 is no exception to the rule, as more than half of the photos in these pages were shot «in-house». When you discover these timepieces, you will understand that there was no alternative. They really deserve this much attention. Whether the incredible Imperial Blue from Ulysse Nardin, the two tourbillons made exclusively for Kronometry 1999 by Romain Jerome, or the new Vanguard collection from Franck Muller, they all merit this extreme care in their presentation. New models from Bovet have also been revisited by our photographer, together with the spectacular Récital 16. Dewitt throws us completely off-course with the outstanding Mathematical, while Moser redesigns its lines in the Venturer collection. There’s also a lot of updating of the news, with Hublot pushing back the walls of our London boutique, and a programme of high-class watch exhibitions scheduled between Paris and the South of France. Finally, I am taking advantage of this issue to address my warmest thanks to a passionate fan of watch-making, car-racing, and also the work of Kronometry 1999. Discover on page 31 an astonishing homage to Kronometry 1999. As its founder, I am deeply touched by such a tribute, and it’s now my turn to pay homage to him and celebrate a resounding victory on that occasion.

Overseas Dual Time & Overseas Automatic A l’approche des beaux jours, Vacheron Constantin présente deux modèles Overseas exclusifs habillés d’un bleu profond. Leurs mouvements mécaniques à remontage automatique sont protégés par un boîtier en acier de 42 mm de diamètre. L’Overseas Automatique (Quantième Simple) indique les heures, minutes, la seconde centrale et la date au guichet. Même indications pour la Dual Time avec cependant la date à l’aiguille, l’affichage d’un second fuseau horaire avec indication jour/nuit et un indicateur de réserve de marche. Ces garde-temps à l’élégance sportive sont limités à 350 exemplaires pour le Quantième Simple et 300 exemplaires pour le Dual Time.

To welcome the arrival of summer, Vacheron Constantin presents two exclusive Overseas models with deep blue dials. Their automatic mechanical movements are housed in steel cases 42 mm in diametre. The Overseas Automatic (Quantième Simple) shows the hours, minutes, central second and the date in a window. The same indications for the Dual Time with, however, the date shown by a counter and hand, display of a second time zone with day/night indicator, and power reserve indicator. These sporty, elegant timepieces are available in limited editions : 350 pieces for the Quantième Simple, 300 for the Dual Time.

Launch of the Big Bang Unico Italia Independent

C’est durant la Fashion Week de Paris que le duo Hublot & Italia Independent a officiellement lancé la Big Bang Unico Italia Independent. La soirée s’est déroulée au Palais de Tokyo, le mercredi 24 juin, sous le regard de la Tour Eiffel et devant la Seine. Ces deux laboratoires d’idées ont donné vie à la Big Bang Unico Italia Independent et à sa paire de lunettes assortie, toutes deux vêtues de Texalium, un matériau inédit à base de fibres de carbone et d’aluminium, exclusivité de la Maison Hublot. Deux modèles sont proposés : Denim Blue ou Denim Grey. Le bracelet en jean clouté finalise le style et le look de cette pièce au succès garanti. Chaque modèle est limité à 500 exemplaires.

It was during the Fashion Week in Paris that the duo Hublot and Italia Independent officially launched the Big Bang Unico Italia Independent. The evening was held at the Palais de Tokyo on Wednesday, June 24th, beneath the gaze of the Eiffel Tower and in front of the Seine. The two think-tanks presented the Big Bang Unico Italia Independent and its matching pair of glasses, both coated in Texalium, a brand new material based on carbon fiber and aluminium, exclusive to the House of Hublot. Two models are proposed : Denim Blue and Denim Grey. The studded denim strap completes the look and style of this timepiece with success guaranteed, but limited to 500 pieces for each model.

HUBLOT Nouvel espace HUBLOT dans la boutique de Londres Hublot investit en direct le marché anglais et fait de Kronometry 1999 une pièce maîtresse de ce renouveau. En effet, fort d’un partenariat historique en France, Hublot et Kronometry 1999 unissent leurs forces pour (re) conquérir ce marché. Comme vous pouvez le voir sur cette animation, Hublot occupera la moitié de la façade extérieure avec un large décor. L’intérieur ne sera pas en reste avec un projet très ambitieux qui sera réalisé dans un deuxième temps, vers la fin de l’année. Nous profiterons de ce grand changement pour revoir en profondeur notre offre avec les autres manufactures. Moins de marques pour plus d’espace afin de présenter des collections plus larges, voilà le projet très intéressant que nous préparons depuis des mois.

New HUBLOT area in the London boutique Hublot is investing directly in the English market and making Kronometry 1999 a cornerstone in this new step. In fact, on the strength of their long-established partnership in France, Hublot and Kronometry 1999 are joining forces to (re)conquer this market. As you will see in this animation, Hublot will occupy half of the outer façade with a large decor. The interior will not be neglected, as a highly ambitious plan is to be implemented in the second phase, towards the end of the year. We will be taking advantage of this major change to extensively review our offer with other watchmakers. The idea is to see that fewer brands share more space and thus present larger collections. A very interesting project that we have been working on for many months.

Spirit of Big Bang : All Black & White Ceramic Enfin disponibles ! Les versions « All Black » et « White » de la Spirit of Big Bang. C’est tout l’esprit Big Bang dans une forme tonneau. À l’intérieur bat le nouveau mouvement automatique Hublot HUB4700, sur une base Zenith El Primero. Ce chronographe a été retravaillé et « hublotisé » afin d’atteindre des performances inégalées. Boîtier en céramique blanche et bracelet alligator blanc pour la « White ». Céramique noire matte microbillée et bracelet caoutchouc pour la version « All Black » qui est limitée à seulement 500 exemplaires.

Finally available ! The «All Black» and «White» versions of the Spirit of Big Bang. All the Big Bang’s hallmarks in a tonneau (barrel-shaped) case. Inside beats the new automatic Hublot HUB4700 movement, based on the Zenith El Primero. The chronograph has been reworked and «Hublotized» in order to achieve unprecedented performances. The «White» version comes with a white ceramic case and white alligator-skin strap. Microblasted matt black ceramic and a rubber strap for the «All Black» version, in a limited edition of only 500 pieces.

H3 La H3 repousse les limites du possible avec une lecture de l’heure fluidique 100 % linéaire. Le mécanisme à soufflets qui impulse la progression du fluide et donc la lecture de l’heure se loge dans la partie supérieure. Un cadran rotatif à quatre faces, chacune graduée de 6 h, est disposé le long du tube horaire. À la fin de chaque période de 6 h, le fluide opère un mouvement rétrograde pendant que le cadran entre en rotation semiinstantanée. L’affichage des minutes est lui aussi linéaire et rétrograde. Un double bras articulé vient balayer une règle graduée de 0 à 60 min dans la partie inférieure droite de la pièce. The H3 pushes back the boundaries of what is possible with a 100% linear fluid reading of the time. The upper part houses the bellows mechanism which drives the progression of the fluid and thus the display of the time. Beneath the time display tube, there is a rotating dial with 4 sides, each one graduated with 6 hours. At the end of each 6-hour period, the fluid performs a retrograde movement while the dial goes into semi-instantaneous rotation. Display of the minutes is also linear and retrograde : a double articulated arm sweeps across a ruler graduated from 0 to 60 minutes in the lower right part of the mechanism. In radiant sunshine, Michael B. , a gentleman driver with a passion for watchmaking, gets ready to take the wheel of his Ferrari 458 for the first part of a 6-hour race. Michael B. is a driver with the impressive KESSEL team, but also a loyal client of Kronometry 1999. As demanding in business as in car-racing, he wanted to thank us for our devotion to our clientele by decking out his car in the colours of Kronometry 1999 for the entire season. A fantastic testimonial to our affinities, and a wonderful gift that I want to acknowledge in this issue. It was a really great day to the very end, as the «Kronometry 1999» Ferrari also won the race ! Congratulations, Michael, and once again a very big «Thank-you !»
