Dear Parents
Our students submitted works for the Chevrah Kadisha “Create a work of Heart” Art Competition. Congratulations to Daniella Wes who was awarded the Overall Winner of the competition and Layla Yutar who was awarded the best Runner-Up in the age category 16-18 years. This is a wonderful achievement and together with the number of entries submitted by our school, is testament to the prolific amount of high calibre pieces of art produced by our Art Department.

In closing, tomorrow is Tisha B’Av, the day on which both Temples were destroyed. The 2nd Temple was destroyed because of baseless hatred and gossip. In acknowledgment of the 9 days, King David is supporting a meaningful project spearheaded by Rabbi Doron and Shelly Perez, in memory of their son Daniel, who was murdered on October 7th. Please watch this video to understand the powerful story which has served as the motivation behind their initiative, encouraging every Jewish family to have a picture of the Temple in their homes - Bayit bechol bayit https://bit.ly/3Agqyb9 We encourage you to support this beautiful project, however it is completely discretionary. You can order and pay by clicking on this link. https://jnml.io/KingDavidBayit Our schools will be pick up points when you order is ready. It is also important to mention that these days are an opportune time to build on our Cool to Be Kind initiative and we should use them as an opportunity bring kindness into our homes and the world.
