SCCU is proud to be the title sponsor of the 2025 March Madness Tournament. This will help us gain awareness across the country, plus the marketing and community teams are big fans so they thought it would be cool. This won’t be cheap (at around $3 million) but after a competitive analysis, it will give us an edge to other financials. We are so excited to use these photos for social media and have the entire US see us on their TVs at home. Go basketball!

THE SUPERIOR SPENDERS THE SUPERIOR SPENDERS
SCCU is excited to announce the start of it’s own arena football league! The Duluth Harbor Monsters fear that standard practice won’t be enough to keep the team in tip top shape so we proposed the idea of an SCCU arena football team - The Superior Spenders- this will give the harbor monsters some local competition and give the twin ports more entertainment throughout the football season.
The SCCU team - The Superior Spenders - will exist with the Execs -Tim Foster, Shane, Kelli, Jenni, along side VPs Eric Anderson and Jess Kohne as the starting line up. The team will be rounded out with Nicole Kinkead, Nikki Hendricks, Kameron Pittman, Kirstin Nevin, Kenny Clagget, and Kevin Chick. Sasha Vandenberghe and Ben Peters will be season substitutes.
We are so excited to cheer on the team and we know they will kick some Monster butt!!

WE’RE DISCONTINUING CONSUMER LENDING
Superior Choice has made the tough decision to discontinue all consumer lending. This includes auto/vehicles, recreational vehicles, personal, and home loans and lines of credit. We are, quite frankly, just sick of dealing with these products. We will shift our focus, energy, and advertising dollars to push our savings and checking suites. In order to still earn revenue we will need to heavily encourage debit card swipes. We will be shifting the consumer lending team from lenders to cold callers. They will each have 300 members to call every day, totaling 1,500 members a week encouraging them to swipe swipe swipe. Debit card holders should expect a weekly call from our NEW cold call team.

NOW ACCEPTING TIPS!
SCCU is jumping on the tipping trend! If Healthcare providers, Starbucks microwavers, and retailers can ask for tips...So can we!
Starting May 1st, all branches will be equipped with screens that will ask our members for a tip once they’ve been helped. Simply help your members with what they came in for and just before you tell them to have a “Superior Day” tell them “I have one more question for you” then flip the screen around and they can choose the tip amount they’d like to tip.
Tips will be linked to your employee number, when you log onto the computer the square machine will automatically sync. This makes it easier for any neccessary taxes to be removed, tips will be included in payroll as another line item.
