Meet Dr. Marc F Matarazzo: A Sports Medicine Specialist Passionate About Helping Patients Return to a Healthy and Active Lifestyle Dr. Marc F. Matarazzo is an experienced board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, specializing in sports medicine and related injuries. He is currently practicing at the Center for Bone and Joint Surgery of the Palm Beaches, where he is a member of a great team with vast amounts of workers' compensation experience and board-certified orthopedics. According to Dr. Matarazzo, fastidiousness, patience, and compassion are the essential skills required for his job. However, the inability to control all things and having to react to unforeseen circumstances are the most challenging aspects of his job.

When treating injured workers, Dr. Matarazzo emphasizes the importance of being fair, just, and providing the best treatment options for each individual patient. He strongly believes in defending his recommendations and treatment plans vigorously. Moreover, Dr. Matarazzo wants to change the workers’ compensation industry by eliminating the delays in diagnosis and treatment and better educating the worker about the system and the ultimate goals of the process. Dr. Matarazzo's biggest professional accomplishment to date was in 2020, where he played an instrumental role in building a comprehensive sports medicine program for Christus Trinity Clinic - Good Shepherd Hospital in East Texas. The program catered to approximately 20 high schools and 4 colleges, providing them with the best sports medicine care. Dr. Matarazzo is readily accessible to communicate with adjusters and employers through Ernesto Sierra, Workers Comp Specialist Lead, who can be contacted via email at Ernesto.Sierra@boneandjoint.orgor phone at 561-803-8655. In his free time, Dr. Matarazzo enjoys reading and learning about new things, traveling and experiencing different cultures and food, and anything involving the ocean. He believes that establishing effective communication with the injured worker, the employer, and other parties involved in the workers’ compensation claim is vital. He strives to have very detailed and readable clinic notes and DWC-25 forms completed immediately, and he is easily reachable by adjusters, nurses, or the employer. Dr. Matarazzo earned his medical degree from The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. He completed his general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University, followed by a sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where he served as the Assistant Team Physician for the New York Jets, the New York Islanders, and the Hofstra University and Hunter College Athletic Departments.

Marc F. Matarazzo, MD Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Matarazzo is an active member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has presented nationally and internationally on various sports medicine topics since 1999. He is thrilled to be back in Florida, serving the northern Palm Beach County and Treasure Coast communities.
