Judge Memorial was established at the old Judge Mercy Hospital, when Catholic Grammar School and Cathedral High School were combined under the direction of The Right Rev. Glass, 2nd Bishop of Salt Lake City.
First graduating class includes 10 students
1929
Among those is Robert Dwyer, first native Utahn ordained as a priest in the Salt Lake Diocese. He went on to be a parish pastor and then took charge of the Cathedral in 1946.
School renamed after John & Mary Judge, a gererous mining family who donated the Judge Mercy Hospital building to the Salt Lake Diocese.

The Right Rev. Mitty becomes 3rd Bishop of Salt Lake City
Judge Mercy Hospital opens in 1910 under the direction of the Sisters of Mercy for miners suffering from black lung. Although it closed in 1915, it was used to house the victims of the 1918 flu epidemic.
