Jasmine Smith Waiting for You On such a hot summer day, Happy birthday is what I wanted to hear. Not just from them, but from you. For the past 8 years, this date had been special. Not just for me, but for you too. The morning sun has crept through and like any other day, I let it shine . But today’s darkness was new. Without you, the sun still shined bright onto the wooden floor, where I sat, waiting for you. On my birthday. Feeling the breeze as it also crept thru the curtains. In my room where my imagination lived, I waited for you. And for some reason I never played with the thoughts of you not being here, on my birthday
